Chalet Neptune was built in 2001 and is situated only 10 minutes walk from the charming and unspoilt centre of Les Contamines. The chalet can be rented during the winter season for skiing. The chalet has magnificent views of the entire west face of the Mont Blanc Massif. The chalet is 2Km from the Telecabine du Lay. Chalet Neptune is furnished to a very high standard and can comfortably accommodate 8 people.

Les Contamines is situated 8 miles west from the summit of Mont Blanc and is at the head of the Montjoie Valley. It is only 20 minutes from the nearest motorway and one and a quarter hours by car from Geneva airport. The nearest railway station is 17Km away. It is close to St. Gervais, Megeve and Chamonix and the Swiss/ Italian borders are within one hour's drive.

Notes: We supply a child's travel cot, high chair, 3 wheeler pushchair and a stair gate plus board games. We do not supply bed linen and towels but these can be hired locally or guests must bring their own. We do supply quilts and pillows. We have two satellite dishes, one to receive UK TV and one for French channels. The TV is a new LCD model and there is also a DVD/ Video player. You may use our DVDs/ Videos/ CDs or bring your own. Although there is a log fire in the chalet, guests are not permitted to use it for safety reasons. On balance of payment we ask for a security deposit of £250 to cover any damage which will be returned after your departure, if the chalet is left in a satisfactory condition. Our guardian, Sarah, who lives locally and is English, is on hand for any major problems and queries. She can also arrange bed linen hire locally.

The Skiing: The Les Contamines ski area offers snow-sure pistes from mid December to the end of April and has a ski school with English speaking instructors. Most of the skiing is above 1800m. The ski area has 120km of uncrowded pistes with 31 ski lifts, 44 pistes, including 3 nursery slopes in the village. For snow borders there are two snow parks, one in the village. Les Contamines has very good off piste for the more adventurous skier. It also has 29 km of cross country skiing and there are eight mountain restaurants. None of the 14 resorts of the Chamonix ski domaine are more than 45 minutes drive away including Les Grands Montets at Argentiere. Local ski guides can take you on a descent of the world famous Vallee Blanche. The chalet is situated only two km from the main cable car and the local ski bus stops opposite Chalet Neptune. St. Gervais, which links with Megeve is only 10 minutes drive away giving a further 300km of skiing.

Summer use of the chalet: Chalet Neptune is available for rental during the winter season only.

The village: The village has two supermarkets, many ski hire shops, 13 restaurants, post office, numerous bars, two banks, a cash point and a tourist office where English is spoken.
