Built in 2004, this extremely spacious chalet is beautifully furnished to a very high standard. The property benefits from 2 large balconies, which command spectacular views to Mont Joly and the length of the Val Montjoie. Although only a 3 minute drive from the centre of the village, the chalet is situated in a very peaceful and relaxing location. It is fitted with high quality equipment including; dishwasher, fridge-freezer, oven, 4-ring ceramic hob, washer/drier and 2 TV/DVD players (large stock of CDs and over 200 DVDs included!) The accommodation is set over 3 floors. The ground floor consists of an open plan living/ dining area with fully fitted kitchen and the other 2 floors make up the sleeping areas. An added feature is that the entire top floor also lends itself well to a playroom, consisting of a twin bedroom (complete with TV/DVD player) and en-suite shower room. Les Contamines is a picturesque Savoyard village, 10 km west from the summit of Mont Blanc. The village retains a traditional atmosphere while offering a varied selection of shops, bars and restaurants. It is easily accessible from Geneva airport, which is only 80 km away, typically a drive of 1 hour 15 minutes. The village has an excellent ski area, suitable for all levels of ability covering 120 km of pistes. Just a 10 minute drive away lies access to the resort of Megeve with 300km of piste. The ski domain of Chamonix is aproximately 30 min away, offering a further 160km of the highest altitude skiing in Europe. The 2 ski lifts are a 5 minute and a 7 minute drive from the chalet with ample free parking at both. During the summer months, there are many alpine recreational activities to enjoy, not least the fantastic leisure park located in the village itself, cable car trips and the unmissable Mont Blanc tram, which can be boarded in the neighbouring town of St Gervais.

Winter season: The Les Contamines ski area offers snow-sure pistes from mid December to the end of April and has a ski school with English-speaking instructors. Most of the skiing is above 1800km. The ski area has 120km of uncrowded pistes with 31 ski lifts, 44 pistes, including 3 nursery slopes in the village. Les Contamines has very good off-piste for the more adventurous skier. It also has 29km of cross-country skiing and there are 8 mountain restaurants. The Chamonix ski domain is 30 minutes away including Les Grands Montets at Argentiere. We have a local chalet manager who, for a small fee, is able to arrange the booking and hire of ski equipment , ski lessons and purchase of lift passes to enable the quickest possible access to the slopes upon your arrival.

Summer season: There are many alpine recreational activities to be enjoyed in Les Contamines, especially the Parc des loisirs which is situated in the town itself. Here you can enjoy rock climbing, archery, crazy golf, swimming in the lake, which also has a small beach area, horse riding, paragliding, tennis, pedal boats and fun jumping! There is an excellent assault course involving rope climbing, swinging through the trees and speeding down the aerial runways across the lake! Suitable for all ages. From here you can take the cable car to another lake where children can happily swim and is conveniently situated next to an excellent restaurant. In the neighbouring town of St Gervais you can take the world famous Mont Blanc tram ,or there is a fantastic open air swimming pool where you can enjoy your own picnic or sample the simple menu in the cafe. In Megeve there is an indoor swimming pool and ice rink and in Chamonix a superb downhill luge. Enjoyed by all from age 2-62!

Our chalet manager, as well as organising ski passes, lessons and ski hire, can also arrange ski guides and access to the famous Vallee Blanche in Chamonix. Or if you require babysitting or nanny services, this too could be arranged. She can even supply a home cooked meal ready for you to pop in the oven after a hard day's skiing. All additional services carry a small fee. Please ask for details.

Our fab ski holiday in Les Contamines

Our ski holiday in Les Contamines was fantastic. Our group ranged from 65yrs - 6yrs old. The chalet was extremely comfortable, clean, neatly decorated and well equipped, it felt like a home even the wide range of DVD's kept the children entertained of an evening. The location is great albeit at the top of a hill, so a car is recommended (the owners suggested this anyway). After a 5min drive you are at the bottom of the slopes, perfect. If you are dreaming of your ideal log cabin in the snow away from it all - this is it! Although we went in the snow season I would be more than happy to go on a walking holiday from this chalet as you are right in the hills, beautiful. Happy holidays....

Fantastic property ideal for a great family holiday. Chalet very new, clean and modern, facilities outstanding. Great place to chill out after a hard days ski-ing. Boys especially love the room in the loft!
The village had a great selection of restaurants all family friendly and offering great food and more importantly great wines!
Would thoroughly recommended this property to all my friends.
