Nestling in the shadow of the Mont Blanc range, this chalet has been newly constructed on the site of an old, ruined alpine farmhouse. It offers modern, spacious accomodation and is furnished to a high standard. Fitted, contemporary kitchen, exposed beams and mezzanine overlooking the living area, are just some of the features of this comfortable chalet. Situated in the authentic and traditional ski resort of Les Contamines Montjoie, it is only 10 minutes walk from the village centre and the ski-bus stop is almost on the doorstep – the ski lifts being just a short drive away. In the summer months, walking, climbing, biking, tennis and lake swimming are just a few of the activities on offer and the famous walking tour around Mont Blanc passes directly through the village. The chalet also has a south-facing garden terrace, for those summer barbeques.

Les Contamines is a traditional French family resort, tucked into a beautiful valley in the shadow of the Mont Blanc range with its all year round snowy peaks. It is also within easy reach of Chamonix (20 mins), Annecy (50 mins) and Geneva (1 hr 10). The village lies on the Mont Blanc walking tour and in summer also offers lake swimming, a tennis centre, high wire circuit and many other activities. In winter there is an extensive ski area extending down into the Hauteluce valley, as well as cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing, sledging and husky dog rides. BOTH THE WINTER AND SUMMER SHUTTLE BUSES ARE NOW FREE IN LES CONTAMINES!

Notes: Separate laundry room contains washing machine and dryer together with storage space for ski and outdoor wear. Wheelchair access is not immediately available but provision could be made on request. Other Mont Blanc ski resorts are easily accessible by car. Local ski lifts are a few minutes away by car but, for those on foot, the bus stop is a few metres from the front door. Travel cot and high chair and now PUSHCHAIR are all available. Underfloor heating for the main living area.

Ski:

Les Contamines Montjoie has an excellent snow record and uses it to the full with over 40 slopes available between 1000 and 2500m. All levels of skier are catered for starting with the beginners slopes in the village itself up to slopes reaching an altitude of almost 2500m suitable for the most advanced of skiers. In total there are 120km of pistes served by 26 lifts. In addition to these facilities for alpine skiing there is also ample provision for the cross country skier with almost 30km of marked walks available, again suitable for all ages and skill levels. For the true all rounder there is also snowmobiling, snow shoeing, floodlit skiing and ice skating. Add to all this the numerous shops, restaurants and bars to look after your après ski requirements, you have everything you need for a great holiday.

We were a group of 7 and were immediately impressed by the helpful and friendly attitude of Veronique. The chalet itself was spotlessly clean, wonderfully well equipped and well presented. The pictures on the web site show it to be impressive but they do not do justice to the space, the light and the quality of the surroundings. It is a comfortably short walk to restaurants, bars and the boulangerie. This was our 6th visit to Les Contamines and we have stayed in a variety of different accommodation ranging from flats in chalets to complete chalets and hotels. This chalet is, far and away, the best accommodation we have stayed in during our visits to Les Contamines.



Many thanks indeed for a wonderful stay.

Fantastic Chalet, Beautifully presented

This Chalet was perfect. Well organised and has absoloutly everything you could need and more. It was exceptionally clean and maintained to the highest standard. The owner was approachable and helpful. There was information about the resort in the chalet and operating instructions for everything. We went on a skiing holiday and skied every day, we had no reason to eat out as the cooking and dining facilities were excellent in the chalet. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children
