Spacious Living Area :
The chalet is a traditional Savoyarde chalet, built in 1997, and set within private grounds. It is south west facing and the terrace attracts the sun all day. The location is tranquil and exceptionally scenic, with fabulous panoramic views up to Mont Joly and across the skiing area to the Col du Bonhomme.
There is one double bedroom, a twin bedroom, and a further large bedroom with twin beds (max height 165cms). A travel cot is available on request..
The living room sofa bed can also be used as a double bed. Sleeping capacity is 6/8. A supplement is payable for each of 7th/8th person, at 50€. The bathroom has a bath with integral shower and toilet. A separate WC is available on the ground floor and also a separate shower/utility room. The large living room has a television, DVD and radio/CD player. The fully equipped kitchen includes an induction electric hob and gas rings, oven, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher.
The nearest restaurants & bars are about 400 metres either at Hameau du Lay village centre, which also has shops, a small supermarket, bars and a night club, or towards the centre of Les Contamines. The main ski lift is also at Hameau du Lay. A very good selection of restaurants, bars, shops, banks and two supermarkets are in the main village centre of Les Contamines-Montjoie. This is a 15 minute walk. An outdoor market is held on Tuesdays displaying local produce and wares.
The main ski lift, which can be viewed from the chalet, and ski du fond station, are about 500 metres away. The ski bus stop and the Ski du Fond track is just 350 m from the chalet.
Activities:
Les Contamines is on the Tour de Mont Blanc GR5 walking route and is an excellent base for an active or quiet holiday. There are many varied, marked walks to suit all abilities. The chalet is at the start of several walks including, the Tre-la-Tete glacier and Dome du Miage.
The village annually hosts a round of the French International Open Gaz tennis championship. Local activities include mountaineering, climbing, mountain biking, paragliding, dry ski jump slope, circus school, adventure park, horse riding, archery, football. Instruction is available for most of these activities. Family activities include playgrounds, crazy golf, and small boating lake, a swimming lake with beach, plus an artificial ski jump.
St Gervais (5 minutes drive) offers a superb outdoor swimming pool with bar and restaurant, ice skating and playground. in the Arve valley (20 min drive) are many activities including lake with beach, swimming, challenging golf courses, and rafting

Les Contamines has an excellent snow record from December through to April. Its 120km of superb well-groomed pistes are excellent for all grades. Beginners, intermediates and mixed ability parties are particularly well catered for. There are some exciting steeper slopes for the adventurous, lots of off piste and two boarder parks. One boarder park is a championship course, whilst the second is in the main village and is floodlit (snow permitting).
The ski area is well served by snow making facilities. Most of the instructors are English speaking. Les Contamines is a usual venue for a round of the Boarder Cross Championship.Other winter activities include a large area for ski de fond, ice skating, dog sleds and snow shoeing.
The ski bus stop is 350m. Skis can be stored in the chalet garage. Ski lockers are also available at the ski station.
