Les Contamines: Les Contamines is a traditional, unspoilt alpine village with stunning views of the Mont Blanc Massif. With the river Bonnant running through the centre and the picture postcard scenery of pretty chalets and treelined slopes it is a delightful and lively village with prices typical of rural France rather than a ski resort.

Summer activities : The village is situated towards the end of the valley which leads to the Notre Dame de la Gorge, part of the famous GR5 Mont Blanc circuit path. There are over 120km of well sign posted local walks for all levels. Guides are available for walking, mountain biking and rock climbing. The Pontet Leisure Park includes, miniature golf, driving range, archery, championship tennis courts, adventure playground and a small boating lake. Chamonix and Megeve are a 30 minute drive away, as is the Italian resort of Courmayer via the Mont Blanc Tunnel. Les Contamines is a delightful base in which to explore the region.

The chalet is perfectly located just 100 metres from the main telecabine giving access to an excellent ski area of 120 km with a further 300 km being available just a ten minute drive or bus ride away. The un-crowded slopes are well-groomed and provide a wide variety of skiing and snowboarding for all levels. The resort has an excellent snow record, well maintained with the help of artificial snow cannons. There is substantial off-piste and a championship snowboarding park. There is an excellent ski school with English speaking instructors and a new nursery for children aged 1 to 7 years. Chamonix is only 40 minutes away by car for those skiers tempted by some of the most challenging runs in Europe.
