Chalet Les Cimes is a 5 star, luxury, 6 bedroom, detached chalet with beautiful views over the mountains and the ski slopes of Megeve and praz sur Arly, just one hour from Geneva airport. This traditional chalet oozes cosy rustic charm with its natural wood interiors, open log fire and comfy leather sofas but has all the modern conveniences expected of a truly first class holiday. A 10 minutes walk or 2 minutes drive takes you to the slopes of Praz sur Arly and beyond to the 175km of slopes in the Espace Diamant, while a 7 minutes drive leads straight to the Rochbrune lift of Megeve, a world-famous resort with 325km of superb skiing. Chalet Les Cimes is available to rent for the first time this season and has been fully renovated and redecorated to a very high standard. Megeve is one of the prettiest resorts in France, chic and unspoilt it is one of only 12 classic alpine villages classed as a 'Best of the Alps' resort.

Praz sur Arly is a pretty, unspoilt mountain village just 5km from Megeve and at the centre of the superb new 'Espace Diamant' ski area. As well as offering fabulous skiing across two resorts, it is also a major centre for hot air ballooning. Its close neighbour Megeve is a chic resort favoured by the French with its beautifully preserved medieval centre, C13th church tower, narrow cobbled streets, car-free squares and old stone bridges. Megeve is also known as the culinary capital of the Alps with some of the world's top chefs in 97 restaurants! The town also offers internationally renowned health spas as well as exclusive shops and art galleries. The open air ice skating rink is a focal point in the village in the afternoon and the newly opened indoor rink attracts world class sporting events and ice-entertainment.

Additional information about rental rates

  • A security deposit of £300 will be charged and returned after the holiday. Although the main change over day is Saturday throughout the skiing season, this is negotiable particularly at other times of the year. The rental includes the cost of all bed linen and towels and includes introductory groceries and logs for the fire as well as cleaning at the beginning and end of the holiday. The rental rate may be negotiable if a booking is made within 8 weeks of departure date.

The Skiing: The superb new 'Espae Diamant' ski area has been open since December 2005 making it one of the largest skiing areas in France. The ski domain now extends across 5 resorts: from Praz-sur-Arly you can ski to Crest-Voland, passing through Flumet, Notre-Dame-de-Bellecombe and Les Saisies on the way. There are 146 pistes over 175km in this area alone. North facing slopes and artificial snow ensure good conditions throughout the season. The skiing in Megeve is justifiably world-famous with 325km of groomed piste offering superb skiing for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. Only 15 minutes drive round the mountain are the resorts of Saint-Gervais, with its mountain tramway linking to Les Houches, and Les Contamines, one of the most snow-sure resorts in France. Chamonix also makes a great day out and can be reached via the A40 in half an hour.

The Summer Season: Praz-sur-Arly and Megeve make the perfect summer retreats, in fact they can be busier in the summer season than in winter with the stunning views of Mont Blanc providing the perfect backdrop to a wide range of outdoor activities. The opportunities for outdoor activities are endless with golfing, tennis, mountain biking, climbing, hiking, hot-air ballooning, paragliding and horse-back riding all available on the doorstep. The outdoor pool with its 70 metre waterslide, summer toboggan run and tree top adventure fun centre all provide hours of fun for the kids. Many of the ski lifts are open in the summer season allowing alpine walks including overnight stops at mountain retreats as well as leisurely dining at altitude.
