Chalet Le Rouet is situated in L'Etelley, Samoens with uninterrupted views across the Giffre Valley. Built in the 1930s, the Chalet was completely refurbished in 2005 and now provides excellent accommodation for 10 in 2 double bedrooms, 1 en suite and 1 with a balcony, 1 bunk room and 2 twin rooms. A sauna, second bathroom, cloakroom/laundry with drying space, small 'snug' room, plus large living/dining room/kitchen complete the accommodation over 3 floors and 125 square metres. The chalet is centrally heated with under floor heating to the whole of the ground floor and a wood burner in the lounge. An entrance lobby gives ample storage for coats boots etc. and outside there is a store for skis. There is parking to the front of the property.

Samoens is a pretty 17th Century village in the Haute Savoie, with a covered market place. It is listed in the French National Office of Historic Monuments and has been awarded a Coq D'or for being one of the most beautiful villages in France. Surrounded by dramatic scenery, part of its charm lies in the fact that although a busy ski-resort in winter and holiday destination in the summer, it still retains the feel of being 'lived in'. Bars restaurants and gift shops sit side by side fresh fruit and vegetable shops, patisseries, pharmacies and an iron-mongers and there is an extensive market each Wednesday, throughout the year. The ice-ring is open to all and and several shops provide ski and boot hire for the winter and equipment hire in the summer. La Jaysinia Botanic Garden, established in 1905 in the village, is home to over 5000 varieties of alpine flowers. Samoens is on the GR5, the premier long distance hiking trail of Western Europe.

Notes: To make your stay as comfortable as possible we have ensured that our beds bed linen and towels are of the finest quality. The kitchen is fully fitted and well equipped and the Chalet has hi-fi, iPod docker, Sky TV and DVD player. There is also a second TV with Playstation 2 and Sky TV in the 'snug'. We have a selection of PS2 games and DVDs, but please feel free to bring your own. There is also a selection of books and board games. The Chalet is centrally heated with a log burning stove in the living area and under floor heating throughout the ground floor. A collapsible stair gate and travel high chair are available.

Samoens in Winter: The Samoens Express Telecabine is a 3 minute drive away with free parking. It takes skiers to Samoens 1600 in 8 minutes. The Chalet is also on the ski-bus route with the Vercland lift approx. 1.2km in one direction and the Morillon lift approx. 1.3km in the other direction. Both also have ample free parking. All these lifts give access to the Grand Massif ski-field having 265km of runs, 6 gondolas, 25 chairlifts and 47 draglifts. Ski over to Flaine for lunch, looking out for 1 of the 3 Jam parks in the area, or through the trees to the restaurants of Morillon and Les Carroz, or down the blue 14km Cascades run through a National Park into Sixt, one of the longest runs in Europe. Cross country skiers will enjoy 90km of loipe and a specialist ski school. Samoens is also well placed for a trip to the Porte du Soleil ski-field. The closest point is Les Gets, about 20 minutes drive away and from there you can reach Morzine and Avoriaz.

Samoens in Summer: Samoens is a fantastic summer destination. For mountain walkers, the routes are well marked: Samoens is on the Chemin de Grande Randonnee. Be challenged by the Via Ferrata or mountain biking and thrilled by paraponting. along the river enjoy horse riding, whilst on the river be exhilarated by white water rafting hydro speed or canyoning. For quieter pursuits, fishing is available as well. Samoens has its own outdoor pool with slide and childrens' pool and there are tennis courts, golf driving range and a childrens' playground nearby, all situated beside 2 picturesque lakes. The is hire wire climbing through the trees for all abilities at both Samoens and at the Lac Bleu in Morillon which also boasts lake swimming, tennis courts and crazy golf. For golfers Les Get is 20 mins away with courses at Chamonix, Bossey and Essery in easy driving distance
