Samoens in Winter:
The Samoens Express Telecabine is a 3 minute drive away with free parking. It takes skiers to Samoens 1600 in 8 minutes. The Chalet is also on the ski-bus route with the Vercland lift approx. 1.2km in one direction and the Morillon lift approx. 1.3km in the other direction. Both also have ample free parking. All these lifts give access to the Grand Massif ski-field having 265km of runs, 6 gondolas, 25 chairlifts and 47 draglifts. Ski over to Flaine for lunch, looking out for 1 of the 3 Jam parks in the area, or through the trees to the restaurants of Morillon and Les Carroz, or down the blue 14km Cascades run through a National Park into Sixt, one of the longest runs in Europe. Cross country skiers will enjoy 90km of loipe and a specialist ski school.
Samoens is also well placed for a trip to the Porte du Soleil ski-field. The closest point is Les Gets, about 20 minutes drive away and from there you can reach Morzine and Avoriaz.
Samoens in Summer:
Samoens is a fantastic summer destination. For mountain walkers, the routes are well marked: Samoens is on the Chemin de Grande Randonnee. Be challenged by the Via Ferrata or mountain biking and thrilled by paraponting. along the river enjoy horse riding, whilst on the river be exhilarated by white water rafting hydro speed or canyoning. For quieter pursuits, fishing is available as well. Samoens has its own outdoor pool with slide and childrens' pool and there are tennis courts, golf driving range and a childrens' playground nearby, all situated beside 2 picturesque lakes. The is hire wire climbing through the trees for all abilities at both Samoens and at the Lac Bleu in Morillon which also boasts lake swimming, tennis courts and crazy golf.
For golfers Les Get is 20 mins away with courses at Chamonix, Bossey and Essery in easy driving distance
