CHILDCARE:
SAMOENS and MORILLON wholeheartedly welcome children and offer a wide range of childcare.
SAMOENS, has invested in a brand new ‘GARDERIE’ [ nusery] called LOUPIOTS, situated opposite the Tourist Office. For children 3 months to 6 years, open 8.30 to 6pm, half or full days, meals available. Children over 3 can have ski lesson, they are taken on the little train and cable car up to the ‘JARDIN DES NEIGES’ at SAMOENS 1600.
MORILLON has been recognised by Ski France as a ‘Children’s Resort’ for it’s organisation, quality and diversity if equipment, and for the activities and entertainment which it provides. Situated on the slopes at MORILLON 1600, the ‘VILLAGE DES ENFANTS’ is for children 6 months to 10 years, opens 9 to 5 pm. Half or full days, meals available. Alongside at the ‘ JARDIN DES NEIGES ’ children over 3 can play and learn in a secure environment supervised, by French Ski School instructors, those over 4 can have ski instruction

Not yet discovered and developed by the big ski companies, SAMOENS and MORILLON are established French ski resorts in mountain farming communities.
SAMOENS is unique in being the only resort classified by the ‘Caisse des Monuments’ famous for it’s stone maisons.There are plenty of Restaurants and Bars, and award winning patisserie /cafe. Lovely quaint shops and activities , are held throughout the year such as festivals, open-air concerts and craft fairs. It is also a ‘Bourg Historique’ (historic market town) it's very authentic as it stills remains a farming village and dates back to the 13th Century. On some days, the streets can become very crowded - with passing cows! Samoëns has been awarded the ‘Coq D' Or’ (golden cockerel) for being one of the prettiest villages in France. . A mountain market is held on Wednesday mornings in the medieval square.
MORILLON..home of Olympic gold medal winner:
MORILLON is a picturesque village and ski lift station situated alongside the river Giffre. It is a beautiful, truly authentic French alpine village that has maintained its traditional atmosphere while offering a selection of shops, bars and restaurants. Respectful of its traditions, its history is at hand, in its architecture, its chapels and The village comprises of traditional houses teaming with flowers in the summer, renovated church and small chalet style residences. Le Lac Bleu and the river Giffre where the rhythm of life is truly relaxing and worth experiencing. Local farmers, artisans and butchers run the village market on Wednesdays in winter, and in summertime only, an alpine market is held on Friday mornings where you can peruse local produce and crafts - both are well worth a visit.

The GRAND MASIFF SKI AREA links 5 resorts, Samoens, Morillon, Sixt, Les Carroz.and Flaine.
It has 265km of piste, 5km of artificial snow, a summit of 2500m, 15 green, 53 blue, 51 red, 14 black runs, & 5 snow parks.
It caterers for all abilities, from beginners to off- piste adrenaline junkies
Flaine, designed by skiers for skiers, so few lift queues, it’s a snow sure ski bowl directly North West of Mont-Blanc it offers some of the finest skiing and off-piste skiing in the Alps. It has a wide variety of runs, including 'Combe de Gers' a fantastic black run in a wide open bowl and Les Cascades, a 14km blue run from the top of Flaine to the village Sixt Fer Cheval a small undiscovered gem of a ski resort.
For CROSS COUNTRY SKIING there are over 90 km of well maintained trails.
Try SNOW SHOEING there are 60 km of marked track trails through pretty woodlands, or go with a guide into undisturbed valleys and mountains
