'La Vieille Ferme ' is an authentic savoyard farmhouse, originally built in 1860, beautifully restored and modernised. Situated overlooking the spa village of St.Gervais, there is a stunning view of the Mont Blanc and the Chaine de Fiz. In winter, we ski St Gervais, Megève, Combloux, Les Contamines and Les Houches, 420kms of local pistes all on the one 'Evasion' pass. In summer, the Mont Blanc massif offers some of the best walking in the world, as well as a vast range of activities for all the family. In the winter months we run long weekend skiing holidays, as well as short break skiing holidays. In summer our long weekend walking breaks are increasingly popular. We are only a fifty minute transfer time from Geneva airport, which means that you can easily be in the mountains within three hours of leaving the UK! Geneva airport transfers, local transport (to the lift in winter, to walks in summer), and half board accommodation are included in our weekend prices.

Notes to the rental rates

• Prices shown are per adult per week sharing a twin or double room. For children sharing a room with two adults: 6 and 7 yrs old = 45% off adult price; 8-15 yrs old included= 35% off adult price. For under 16 yr olds sharing their own room, 10% off the adult price each. A single room supplement is base cost plus 35%. Our prices include six nights half board accommodation and one night Bed and Breakfast when you can sample one of our excellent local restaurants. Marie does a child friendly menu for the under fifteens earlier in the evening. Geneva airport transfers are also available; (this service is not available at February half term or in July and August).
  
• Our Summer 2008 weekend and short break prices are as follows :
  £88 per person per night for a three night stay (minimum),
  £84 per person per night for a four night stay,
  £80 per person per night for a three night stay.
  These prices include transfers to and from Geneva Airport, full board accommodation, ( bed and continental breakfast, 3 course dinner with wine, picnic lunch,) as well as transport to and from local walks. Any hosting of walks by Jeremy is an entirely free service, given with enthusiasm and pleasure!
  
• In summer picnic lunches can be provided; please ask for prices. We have a no smoking policy in our chalet. All holidays start at 4 p.m. on the day of arrival, and end at 10 a.m. on the day of departure.

Your Hosts

Jeremy and Marie own « La Vieille Ferme » and are dedicated to meeting the needs and requirements of their guests. Marie is French and Jeremy is English, which combination we think gives us an openness to cultures and ideas (except during France/England Grand Slam Rugby matches), that makes the ambience convivial and welcoming. Jeremy is a great walking enthusiast and photographer and loves to share his knowledge of this area which he has been walking for more than twenty years. Marie has known the valley all her life, is an excellent cook and a very good skier.

Our Skiing Season

We are here to make sure that you have a skiing holiday sans souci (worry free). We pre-organise all your equipment hire, get all necessary ski lessons IN ENGLISH booked, help you buy your ski pass before you get here, pick you up at Geneva airport (transfer time 50 mins.!) if you choose not to drive, and generally make sure that you spend the maximum amount of time on the slopes enjoying yourselves. Personal service is what we are all about!

Our Summer Season

Perhaps even more active than our winter season, there are a myriad of activities for all the family. Walkers will find some of the best trails in Europe, as well as views you can only dream about. In May, June and September this is a hikers paradise; very few people about , generally excellent weather and loads of mountain animals to see. July and August are more family orientated months, with white water rafting, adventure parks in the trees, summer toboggan, para gliding, swimming, tennis, golf, mountain biking and much, much more. We specialise in hosted long weekend walking holidays during the summer months. Our prices include Geneva airport transfers, transport to and from local walks, half board accommodation, and a picnic lunch to take on your walks. Jeremy's local knowledge is invaluable in helping you discover this walkers paradise over a long weekend!

Skiing Information:

St Gervais Mont Blanc is part of the Evasion Mont Blanc ski area, with over 450 km of pistes on the one Evasion pass. This is a huge domain, but is very far from being a mass-tourism resort; it is definitely an area that has yet to be 'discovered'. Out of high season, (school holidays!), you can easily find you have the slopes and the lifts practically to yourselves- the pistes have been beautifully groomed just for you! The lift staff, mostly drawn from the local village communities, are friendly and helpful, making this, all in all, a very special place to ski. People who have discovered this area do not then want to go and ski anywhere else. This is traditional skiing at it's best.
