Built in 2002, this luxury self-catering apartment in the prestidious Les Pistes du Soleil enjoys an excellent position 100 m from the main chair lift. It is situated between the piste road and the shopping street which is accessed by internal lift. The apartment faces South and enjoys views of the pistes and lovely old farms. It has 1 double bedded room, 2 twin-bedded rooms, the 4th room has 1 pair of bunk beds & 1 single. There is 1 bathroom and 2 shower rooms. It has a large sitting/dining room and the dining table extends to seat up to 16. There is an excellent fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and microwave and large frigde/freezer. There is an enormous 100 m2 terrace. Ski locker. TV/DVD/Stereo. Telephone/Fax. Full laundry equipment. Beds are made up and towels and household linen supplied. Cot and high chair available. It has ski-lockers and a garage. Helpful bilingual chalet staff, who live out, can arrange meals, day and evening child care and extra cleaning if wanted.

le Chinaillon is the ski station of the commune of Le Grand Bornand and guarantees the ability to ski back to the village even in the last week of April. It is part of the Aravis ski area with access to over 200 kms of piste and beautiful walking/climbing country during the rest of the year. The area is famous for swathes of wild flowers which contribute to the special flavour of the Reblochon cheese. It is 40 mins from Annecy and 1 hour from Geneva Airport. It is a great centre for paragliding, and the Tour de France passes through the village most years, often hosting stop-overs.

These include parapente centre, bird-watching including eagles and the newly re-introduced lammergyer, walking, archery, trampolining, gymnastics, petanque, table-tennis, superb swimming pool, new forest adventure park, two cinemas, via ferrata, roller-blading, mountain-biking, horse riding, white-water rafting, canyoning, acinating local markets, farm visits and regular free entertainment in the village squares.

Apres-ski & Eating out: Apres-ski is great fun in the bars of both Le Chinaillon and Le Grand Bornand. From Michelin Guide mentioned restaurants to cheerful Pizzarias and authentic mountain restaurants, there is plenty of choice to suit all pockets.

Sports and activities other than skiing in Winter: Guided walks on snow shoes. Moto-neige, skating, parapenting on skis

Ski: 210 km of pisted skiing in the Aravis area. All types of skiing available with pistes to suit all levels of ability including the second steepest black run in Europe. Queues rare. Good snow records and snow cannons. The season runs from 15 Dec to 22 April but is often open earlier and later. Dedicated snow-boarding park, night skiing. Summer skiing on Mont Blanc glacier 1 hour away.

Golf: Local 9 hole course within 10 minutes drive. 18 hole course with resident English Pro at Talloires, 30 minutes. 2 more 18 hole courses within 1 hour and 3 championship courses within 2 hours.
