Chamonix Argentiere Le Tour, wonderful chalet at foot of ski slopes
Beautiful self catered chalet comprising major part of traditional stone farmhouse. Perfect location summer and winter holiday rental situated in the old village of Le Tour, the chalet provides perfect access for extensive and exciting winter and summer activities for which the region is renowned. Ski back to the door & it is minutes walk to the Vormaine nursery slopes and the Le Tour telecabine, and only 5 minutes drive or bus journey to Argentiere. In the winter season there is a regular complimentary bus service to & from the village during the day. The large windows and huge balconies allow stunning views up to the Le Tour Glacier and down the valley. The interior of the old chalet has been refurbished, furnished and decorated to the highest standard, whilst maintaining its traditional features and charm. It has been variously described as 'fun family home' and 'wonderfully romantic' so seems to suit most scenarios for self catered holiday rental.

Summer in the Chamonix valley
Summer in the Chamonix valley can be action packed or relaxing as you wish. The hiking & walking is absolutely stunning & you can find walks of a length & gradient to suit most ages. Longer walks can include a night in a hut & it is definitely worth glacier walking with a mountain guide. For the more adventurous, there is rock climbing for every standard, ice climbing, white water rafting, hydroglyse, canoeing, mountain biking, parapenting, a high ropes course & summer luge. Gentler sports include riding, tennis, swimming, cycling, fishing & golf.
For a less energetic time
For those wishing to take things a bit more gently, an extensive network of lifts & tramways operate in the summer. The cable cars to the top of the Aiguille du Midi & to Brevent give breathtaking views to Mont Blanc & a massive panorama of rugged peaks. The train to the Mer de Glace & the St Gervais Tramway are both scenic trips that can be enjoyed by all. The Aiguilles Rouges Nature Reserve is a fascinating place to visit for those interested in mountain plants & animals. The Animal Parc Merlet in Les Houches gives a great opportunity to see the animals in their natural habitat. Detailed 'what to do' notes are emailed to all clients prior to their departure.
Culture, shopping & dining
There are numerous museums & places of interest & Le Tour is well positioned for easy day trips to Switzerland & Italy (via the Mont Blanc tunnel or Helbronner telecabine). For those who enjoy shopping Chamonix offers a widely diverse & exciting array of shops from traditional arts & crafts to wonderful foods & clothes. The weekend markets in both Argentiere & Chamonix are fabulous. For eating out, there is a massive range of restaurants & cafes to suit everyone.
