Built in traditional style in 2003 with all the benefits of modern technology and luxuriously furnished. Fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, satellite TV, very child friendly. Chalet Berrier is constructed on three floors with panoramic views over the charming village of Le Chinaillon and the Aravis mountains. It is 40 minutes from Annecy, one hour from Geneva. All types of skiing over 210 kms within the Aravis area, queues rare. Wide variety of sports and activities available. The accomodation is self-catering, but a meal can be ordered for your arrival and other occasional meals can be arranged with 24 hours notice. Daytime or evening child care, with bilingual carers is available and daily or occasional cleaning can be arranged.

Located in the commune of Le Grand Bornand, Le Chinaillon is the ski station and you can always ski back to the village even on the last day of the season on the last week of April. It is part of the Aravis ski area with 200 kms of piste and wonderful walking and climbing in summer. It is only 40 minutes from the water sports and cultural center of Lake Annecy and 1 hour from Geneva Airport or 1.30 hoursfrom Chambery. The Tour de France passes through the village almost every year and often hosts a stop-over, giving the chance of meeting the participants.

Notes: The chalet is comfortably furnished with large sofas and rugs with underfloor heating on the ground and living floors. There are lots of books puzzles and games with an emphasis on under 10's and plenty of English DVDs to suit most age groups. The accomodation is let as self-catered, but occasional evening meals can be arranged with 24 hours notice. Day or evening child care can be arranged, the carers are bilingual. The area around the chalet is quiet and suitable for children to play in without fear of traffic. It is a short safe walk to the sledging slope and an easy walk in to the village for shopping.

Sports & Activities : A wide range of sports and activities are available in the summer season. These include: parapente centre, bird-watching, walking, archery, trampolining, gymnastics, petanque, table tennis, superb swimming pool, two cinemas, via ferrata, roller-blading, mountain-biking, horse riding, VTT, white-water rafting, canyoning, superb local markets, cheese farm visits and regular free entertainment in the squares. There is a new forest adventure park, with facilities for 4 to 7 years and the main area for all ages above this.

Apres-Ski & Eating Out : Apres-ski is great fun in the bars of both Le Chinaillon and Le Grand Bornand. From Michelin Guide mentioned restaurants to cheerful pizzarias and authentic mountain restaurants there is something to suit all pockets.

Activities in Winter Other Than Skiing: Guided snow-shoe walks, skating, sledging, moto-neige, parapente with skis. Farm visits.

Ski: 210 kms of pisted skiing in the Aravis area. All types of skiing available with pistes to suit all abilities, including the 2nd steepest black run in Europe. Queues rare. Good snow records, and snow cannons, the season runs from 15th Dec to 15 April, but is often open both earlier and later. Dedicated snow-boarding park, night skiing. Summer skiing on the Mont Blanc glacier, one hour away.

Golf: Local 9-hole course within ten minutes drive. 18-hole course at Talloires with resident English Pro. Two more 18-hole courses within one hour and three championship courses within two hours.
