What's special about the chalet:
The chalet has undoubted charm and combines the rustic feel of an old chalet with modern facilities and efficiency. It has been well designed to provide very efficient use of space and works extremely well as a comfortable home for 2 families. Two dishwashers, and well equipped kitchen plus cupboard full of games and books means it is a relaxed second home with boring chores minimized. Although out of the centre of Meribel, it is easily accessible by gondola, bus or a few minutes in a car thus getting the best of both worlds - peace and quiet and special alpine village ambience at home with easy access to the bright lights. Most of the time one can ski back to the chalet on an attractive route through the trees. Night-life loving teenagers will appreciate that it is only a 15 min. walk downhill from Dick's.

In the Summer:
Being in a small friendly hamlet is definitely an advantage and the sunny balcony and terrace provide an ideal place to relax when not taking advantage of the local 18 hole golf course, riding, tennis, swimming, parapenting, climbing, rafting, mountain biking, walking or kayaking. Ski:
Within a few minutes walk of a gondola lift to the centre of Meribel and the heart of the 3 Vallees, the largest linked ski area in the world. Even in poor natural snow conditions there is always accessible good skiing with the 3000m altitude at Val Thorens and the 500 snow cannons on the lower slopes in the Meribel valley. For a good part of the season it should be possible to ski back to the chalet but if not, the heated ski lockers by the main lifts provide a convenient place to leave skis and boots to allow for a more comfortable trip back on the Gondola.
Golf:
Meribel has a wonderful 18 hole golf course ( the back nine holes have been refurbished this year) and organises competitions and courses of tuition as well as driving range, practice green and other facilities. Courchevel 20 minutes drive away has a charming 9 hole one - Both have excellent restaurants nearby.
