' We still cannot believe the view, it is better than any picture. The house was wonderful with everything we could have wished for. We are already hoping to come back ' ..... ' The house had everything and more. The view's stunning- the different colours at every sunset made dinner on the terrace compulsory. Many thanks for providing such an excellent base for our holiday. We would love to return ' ..... ' Very spacious and clean, well equipped. We had a great time, views were amazing. Loved the area ' ..... ' We had a really wonderful time - it was more than all of our expectations. We were speechless when we first looked round the house. A few photographs and the description do not really give the full picture. Thanks again for all your information and help with organising - we have had such a good time.'

Wonderful House and Wonderful Location

Review Submitted: March 6, 2012 Date of Stay: December 2011
My wife and I stayed here for a week over Christmas this past winter. What a wonderful time! Coming from a city, this is exactly what we were looking for in our Christmas vacation. The house itself is incredibly cozy. We spent just about every night by the wood stove. The kitchen facilities are great, and very spacious. We cooked a great Christmas dinner there. And the views are just spectactular. There's nothing quite like waking up on Christmas morning to views of the Alps in three directions.

We also took advantage of the area. Between La Mure and Grenoble, we had some great meals and some great nights out. And we are big nordic skiers, so we loved the easy access to two national parks and plenty of ski resorts. We went skiing several days while there, and for winter hikes another day.

I highly recommend this stay to anyone looking for a very relaxing winter holiday in the French Alps.

fantastic relaxing holiday!!

Review Submitted: November 18, 2010 Date of Stay: August 2010
After staying at Maison Dubois i just had to write a review!! It is the most wonderful of places to stay. The property is beautifully maintained and decorated, a real home from home! My family and i enjoyed the holiday completely and cant wait to go back! The surrounding area is stunning, you cant beleive the views are real! Also there is lots to do and see in the surrounding area which will keep you busy if you can drag yourself away from the house and pool! I would have no problems recommending this property to all my friends and family, indeed we have taken friends back each year since we first came! A beautiful enviroment for a great relaxing holiday, thank you so much Pascal and Anne, cant wait to come back next year!!

Home from home

Review Submitted: November 11, 2010 Date of Stay: August 2007
No photograph could possibly do justice to the outstanding 180 degree view across the valley to the mountains far beyond. The constantly changing light through the day means it never seems to look the same twice.

The elevated terrace runs right along the front of the house and is like an extension of the large kitchen/dining/sitting space. It's ideal for sitting out enjoying the view or watching the sun go down in the evening. You can also enjoy the view from the pool alongside the house.

The rooms at the back of the house are set into the hillside, making them blissfully cool in hot weather.

The house was clean and well maintained throughout when we visited, with everything we could have wanted.

Pellenfrey is a hamlet perched on the mountainside amongst pretty alpine meadows, but with easy access from the main road. A few miles away, La Mure has a market with fantastic fresh produce.

There is plenty of scope for exploring, though don't be surprised if you don't feel like leaving the place!

The charming family-run restaurant a short walk away in the village is a must, and very good value.
