Hydra island is unique as no motor traffic is permitted. Donkeys serve as taxis. Strict regulations require all houses to conform to traditional style. The harbour hides away the chic shops and the local tavernas waiting to be found. While away your time in the harbour-side cafes watching the exclusive motor cruisers tangle anchors with the small fishing boats, walk the narrow coastal tracks to little coves or up the hill to the pine forest, take a water 'bus' to a bay with water sports or get lost amongst the winding narrow passages. Take a water taxi to the uninhabited south side of the island, or a boat to the islands of Spetses and Poros. Because the island is the most picturesque in Greece many artists, some of world re known, have made Hydra their home as have some international celebrities. This studio apartment, in keeping with the feel of the island, has bare rocks left where the studio has been dug out of the hillside. Unique and only 200 meters from the sea.

| Notes: | One of the qualities that lend Hydra it's unique charm is the absence of motor vehicles. This, however does make Hydra not so suitable for those who have difficulty in walking unless they are happy to travel everywhere by donkey. There are also many shallow steps and the streets can be wonderfully narrow. |
