The Village of Almirida Bay is very close to Chania (the ancient capital) and approx. 30 minutes away from Chania Airport. The Villa is situated in its own private, secluded, grounds approx 10 minutes walk (flat!) from the Almirida sea-front. Passing the Almirda Beach Hotel on your right, continue under the bridge until you come to a 'X' roads, 25 yards on your right is VILLA VARVARA. The sandy beach at Almirida is ideal for swimming, sunbathing and water-sports. The island's only inland lake - Lake Kournas - is approx. 20 minutes drive away. The area of Apokoranas is very green and invites to come and do walks or bicycle tours, straight from the doorstep. Please ask us for information about guided and non-guided walks, bicycle rent, etc. Guests may also fly into Heraklion Airport and we will arrange transport if no car hire has been previously booked.
