Notes to the rental rates

• If you require flights or car hire, you may wish to contact our friend Lorraine at Willow gate Travel, telephone 01691 661199 or send her an email at willowgate1@hotmail.com for a competitive quote. Alternatively, you could try the following local car hire companies - Flisvos, Auto club or Kalives Travel, who can all arrange for your pick up to be from either airport.
  
• All the hire companies can usually provide hire cars from either Chania or Heraklion airport if you ask them for a quote from the airport. A taxi from Heraklion airport to Almerida will cost approximately 100 euros, whilst one from Chania will cost approximately 35 euros.
  
• Alternatively there is a luxury coach that runs from Heraklion to Chania, which can drop you off at the Kalives turn-off, and it only costs 10 euros one way!

The villa owners, Stan and Fiona who are resident in Crete, will be servicing the villa and pool during your stay, and will be on hand to answer any questions you may have regarding local facilities, places of interest, where to shop, markets, restaurants, petrol stations, ATMs etc. A free welcome pack which includes the following: bread, milk, eggs, jam, tea, coffee, sugar, water (still and sparkling) two bottles of beer, one bottle of wine and a carton of fresh orange juice) is provided to get you off to a good start. A deluxe welcome pack can be provided at an additional cost If you are coming in late at night, please just let us know.

Large swimming pool for your exclusive use!

The other villa on the hilltop sits on the right hand side of the plot, and Villa Orea Thea sits on the left-hand side of the plot, at the front. Villa Orea Thea's private swimming pool and large patio area is not overlooked by our neighbour as it is situated on the left hand side of the Villa.

We can suggest car hire companies to you, but your car rental contract is with them, and not with us. They are: Autoclub, Flisvos and Kalives Travel. Please be aware - if you fly in to Heraklion, you are at the opposite end of the island and it is a one and a half -two hour drive on the National Road. This is a lovely drive during daylight hours as the scenery is spectacular, but only recommended for those who are comfortable driving at night on unfamiliar roads. There are a number of water parks on Crete, one of which is situated just outside Chania - about 30 minutes drive from the Villa, and on the same site is a go-kart track. There is a 10-pin bowling alley in the Almerida Beach Hotel and another one just outside Chania on the Souda road.

Golf Information:

There is only one golf course on Crete, which is near Heraklion.
