Treat yourself to a luxurious vacation in a secluded and breathtaking Grecian villa with a spectacular unobstructed view of the Aegean coastline and the islands. You and your family can still be close to the largest ports offering ferries to the islands and the sites in Athens and the mainland yet still be away from the bustle of the city. We have been welcoming our precious guests in the downstairs part of our villa for several years now. We have now made the upstairs penthouse available! We can rent to you either parts of the villa or BOTH! The Stargazer can accommodate from two up to sixteen people. Visit our guest book, learn from our other guests' experience! Our villa has three floors, over 600 sqm of living space and 12 verandas as well as a back yard and BBQ . The guest hosue located on the first floor is completely self contained, with its private entrances (3) and verandas (2). It has 175 sq m of living space, with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths and a loft. It accommodates 6 guests in the bedrooms and loft and in a pinch can sleep two more on the convertible couch. in the living room The living room, dining room and kitchen areas form a large open space, flowing easily from the kitchen with the marble pass-through to the dining room with the uninhibited view of the Aegean from the 4 oversize living room windows. Large open spaces of our living room are adorned with three stucco veneziano Doric columns, hidden lighting and marble/tiled flooring. Windows overlooking the islands will entice you to spend many an hour on the wide tiled verandas or the living room. On a clear day one can see as far as Andros, Kea and Evia .

This stunning Athens Vacation Villa is located by the Schinias environmental Park (the only one in Greece), within 50km from down town Athens, overlooking the Plain of Marathon and the most pristine beach of Greece, Schinias. The 'start' of Marathon is just a 10 minute drive from our home, access to the port of Rafina where you can pick up the boat for Myconos is just 20-30 minutes away. Our villa
Our villa is built on the top of the hill of Schinias, overlooking the plain of Marathon. For some of the history (ancient) buffs, this is the area where the famous 'Battle of Marathon' took place during the Persian wars in the 400s BC. It took us years to decide where to build our villa. We would come up to the hill during the sunset or sunrise and enjoy the serenity and beauty of the Aegean in the south and the mountains in the north. Sometimes, we would come up here to watch the full moon rising over the island of Evia, with the vast expanse of the Aegean simmering in the moonlight, the infinite number of lights from al the towns around the area in the distance, all draped with the incredible Greek sky and the zillion of stars! The feeling of peace and beauty of the area convinced us to build here. We have built a home that takes advantage of all the incredible views that the area has to offer.
Coast and the beach
No matter the language or how you spell it, Schinias is a beautiful area bordering both suburban Athens and the Marathon Plains; the site of the Battle of Marathon and the birthplace of the 'Marathon Run'. Ranked among the top ten tourist attractions by Yahoo! Travel. Our area, just 5 minutes down the hill from the villa, is famous for its rocky coast with the deep blue green water, jumping off the cliffs. The coast lne is of great interest to scuba divers, snorklers and nature lovers. The sandy beach on the other side of the hill is perfect for young and old alike who like shallow, 'safe' water and swimming. Perfect for little kids. There are several water sports clubs available for your pleasure along the coast. They are safe and great for families. The towns of Marathonas beach and Nea Makri within a 10-20 minute drive offer board walks, tavernas, night clubs, movie theatres and many other sports attractions.
The area
All of the geographic area of Schinias is a National Environmental Park as well as a European Union Environmental Preserve. Only one road enters the park and it has no exit. The only road into our community branches off the park's road and also has no exit. All of this means that we have very little auto mobile traffic. This makes our community private, quiet and safe. The lack of traffic makes our roads ideal for walking and jogging. We have a road and walking path that parallels the coast line just a few meters above the sea that is great for walks in the cool of the afternoon and early evening. (Due to Greece's location relative to time zones, we have day light almost until 10 pm during the first part of June.) If you are into hiking, one interesting day hike is to walk cross country to the ferry port of St. Marina, take the ferry to the island of Evia, hike on the island then return to Sxinias.

The top of the hill position made us think that this is how people in Olympus lived. We've had to e mail to let you know what a wonderful time we all had in Marathon this holiday.We always expected the villa to be comfortable from the write up on the internet,but we were not prepared for the breathtaking views and the peaceful surroundings that we experienced. It was so relaxing to be able to come back after a hectic day and look out over the balcony at the moon shining over the water. We couldnt have asked for more.
