Villa Alena and Lara's House sit in their own grounds with extensive and colourful gardens and walkways with sensational views of the (Lefki Ori) Mountains and The Bay. The Villa and House share a beautiful kidney shaped swimming pool and the expansive pool terrace looks out on The Bay which seems so close you could almost reach out and touch it !! Within the gardens there are quiet places in which to sit and read or just take in the breathtaking views. And yet, amongst this peace and tranquility, the popular village of Plaka is just five minutes away. Both properties have a large comfortably furnished lounge, a modern fully equipped family kitchen including a full cooker and washing machine. The bedrooms have spacious built-in wardrobes, dressing tables and mirrors and bathrooms with a full size bath, shower and vanity units. Both properties are equipped with TV/Video and CD/Radio/Cassette Player, Hairdryer and Electric Iron. Both properties have central heating.

Villa Alena and its sister Lara's House are set within their own walled grounds of one acre which encloses the colourful well-kept gardens and walkways which are for the exclusive use of the guests. The pool and gardens are maintained by Ray and Christine who have lived in Crete for many years. There is a weekly maid service supervised by our good friend Rita who lives just down the lane and any unforeseen problems or emergencies are taken care of promptly by her husband Gerry. Villa Alena is a two-story villa with a large lounge area with fireplace. French Doors from the lounge open onto a covered patio with views across the pool to the Mountains and Bay. The family kitchen and dining room has a full cooker, fridge/freezer, washing machine and microwave. From the dining room, French Doors open onto the pool terrace with its spectacular views. Notes to the rental rates

• The above prices are for 4 person occupancy. Extra guests charged at £10 per week. The above rental includes all services. Bedlinen and towels etc are changed weekly. A deposit of £100 per week is required when booking, the balance to be paid six weeks prior to departure. A surety of £50 per week is required against serious breakage and/or damage. In the absence of any such breakage and/or damage, the surety will be refunded within 14 days of the end of your holiday. The surety will not be retained for minor breakages such as glasses etc.

Holidaying with extended family or friends ?

Villa Alena and Lara's House are an ideal holiday solution for families or friends wishing to enjoy a holiday together but who welcome their own self-contained living space at the end of the day. Both Alena and Lara sleep four but each has a sofa bed which can sleep an extra two if required when both are booked for joint holidays making a total sleeping capacity of 12 plus !! If you are looking to make a double booking check the availability of each property to see if the week(s) you require are available for both properties. Booked separately, we prefer a maximum of four persons. We welcome couples and family bookings and therefore DO NOT take bookings from same sex parties or young singles whose idea of holiday fun will differ considerably from that of a couple or young family. You can be assured therefore that if you are booking either Villa Alena or Lara's House separately, those sharing your holiday base will be of a similar and acceptable profile to yourselves.

Within your holiday environment there is everything you require for a relaxing holiday. However, we could not possibly, in the limited space available, list the many and varied attractions that await you on the island of Crete. The historical Minoan sites of Knossos and Phaistos, the glorious cities of Chania and Rethymnon with their Venetian architecture, modern shopping centres and vibrant harbour side cafes, tavernas and restaurants. The famous Samaria Gorge and fun-filled Water City waterpark are all within your reach as are the many blue-flag child-friendly beaches. Local agents in Almeritha and Kalives run excursions to other places of interest such as the island of Santorini.
