Xamoudochori, Platanias: Xamoudochori, a small traditional village situated on a hill overlooking the ocean, is just 7 km west of Platanias, the famous tourist destination in Chania, West Crete. Xamoudochori is surrounded by olive groves and vineyards as the olive oil and the local wine are the main products of interest in the area. In order to reach Xamoudochori, guests will have to take a left turning as soon as they enter the village of Maleme while heading to Kissamos. The village is located just 4 km to the south, on the hill, overlooking the absolutely unspoilt natural environment and the endless blue sea. The beach of Maleme with its fish taverns and restaurants is an ideal destination for those who don't wish to drive more than 5 minutes to get to a nice beach and enjoy the clear waters and warm sun. The beach is never crowded and is ideal for those who tend to avoid noise and commotion.
