Villa Hermione - 2 bed detached villa, Plaka, shared pool

The villa was exactly as described, and perfect for us with a comfortable and quiet ambiance. It provided a really good base with lots of interest within relatively short driving distances. Almyrida and Georgiopolis for the beaches, Lake Kournos and the mountain passes over to the south for beautiful scenery, Aptera for archeology and Chania and Rethymno for town, harbours and shopping.
There are enough options with the villa facilities and in the local villages to have as relaxing or active as stay as you wish and Pam and I could happily have stayed another week, whereas on other holidays we have often been ready for home after 2 weeks (Pam misses our cat).
We did have a problem with the pool, which took the service company a week to fix (a replacement filter pump). The owners response and apology which was waiting for us by email when we arrived home, demonstrated the high degree of care that they have for their guests.
I always say that every service or product is entitled to have things go wrong occasionally and it is how things are put right that is a measure of the quality of service. I have rate Hermoine's owners at 100% and thank them for their concern.

We had a very pleasant stay (for 3 weeks) in villa Hermione . The service from the owner before and during the stay was excellent! The villa was clean, well equipped and maintained. The location of the villa is excellent for day trips in all directions of the island. We also appreciated the quiet and beautiful surroundings of the villa, and especially the view of the olive grove on the north-east side. The villa is also within walking distance of Plaka village, with several excellent restaurants and some groceries. It is not difficult to recommend such a place and honestly spoken we would also like to go back ourselves!

We were looking for a chilled out holiday at our pace with all the luxuries but no stress. Villa Hermione was just the ticket. It was relaxing with the villa close to essential ammenities and good restaurants within walking distance but had the idyllic draw of being secluded. In fact, we had the pool to ourselves during our stay! The Villa was extremely clean and had all the ammenities of a 5 star villa. It was very comfortable and felt like home immediately that we unpacked and the views from the balconies over to the sea were so picturesque and relaxing.
I hate it to sound that we didnt make the most of the holiday, we did go to the beach at Almerida and visited the Ancient ruins at Aptera and the quaint harbour at Chania which were all a small drive away. However, the most important thing for us was just the ability to do as much or as little as you wanted and we loved our relaxing holiday at Villa Hermione. We will definately be booking it again in the future.
