Remote Wonderland

We spent 3 weeks in this lovely farmhouse with 2 children (5 and 8) but had visitors come and go also with kids. The house is a good 20-25 minutes from the nearest town but once you are there you don't want to leave. It's not a place for anyone looking for loads of action or distractions but is for those who love good views, cooking, reading and just chilling out and being a little adventurous. The house is built on terraced levels, so lots of stairs that could be a bit precarious; we and the kids loved it but I wouldn't take Gandpa, who's a bit wobbly on his feet. The house is comfortably decorated, feels warm and authentic, very welcoming and not at all precious. You feel at home to explore all the good book shelves and come in a bit salty and sandy, perfect for a holiday. The pool and especially the outdoor shower were enormously appreciated for cooling off especially lovely in the evening. Spectacular views, lovely beaches (empty even in mid-July!), clean clear water, good depth for children. The garden is a wonderland of colour and also provides food; the friendly gardener would deposit a pile of veg every day on our table and fresh mint tea was our daily refresher. Lots of good friendly tavernas abound, different types of beaches to explore, and the island itself is stunning. We are desperate to go back and share with our friends, we would recommend it highly to anyone with an adventurous and curious spirit.
