'Away from it all' Two restored Stone Cottages with pool and gardens near beach

Two 17th Century Stone cottages Situated on a peaceful hillside, facing west, overlooking the sea, Romer and Les Kai are two beautifully restored cottages which provide a lovely retreat where you can relax and unwind. The sunsets from the terraces and sundecks are wonderful; enjoy your breakfast, lunch or evening drink taking in the fantastic views. Walk down through the terraced garden to the pretty swimming pool, which is not overlooked by either cottage, allowing complete privacy. Romer has both washing machine and dishwasher. Both cottages offer an ideal holiday location for a those who want to be away from it all in a rural setting but within walking distance of village, tavernas, supermarket and sea and beach. Rent both cottages for extended families or friends (sleep up to 9). The cottages are set apart from each other and are completely private, and are connected via a path through the terraced gardens. Sailing, swimming, cycling, scuba diving and horse riding all nearby.

Romer Cottage has two large bedrooms (one double, with triple aspect and balcony, and one twin room, with door to private stone terrace). The large farmhouse style kitchen has a dining table and breakfast bar looking through to the sitting room where you will find a large video library and books. There is also a DVD player, plus an excellent CD and tape player. The kitchen is well equipped with dishwasher, oven and gas hob, kettle, coffee maker, microwave oven, toaster and large fridge/freezer. There is also a large woodburning range for Winter use, plus the cottage also has full central heating, making it ideal also for Winter holidays. The bathroom has a small bath with shower over, toilet and washbasin, plus washing machine. There is a separate WC as well. Outside you will find a covered dining area and several sun terraces within the flower filled gardens. A short walk down through the gardens will bring you to the pretty swimming pool.

This area of Kefalonia is 'far from the madding crowd' with a wonderful selection of pretty beaches and coves. Ideal for people who like to be 'away from it all' but also within walk of good tavernas and local minimarket. The local fishing port of Fiscardo is reminiscent of San Tropez before it was commercialised. The name, Les Kai Itan Ekthes are the nearest English sounds of the original Greek name of the cottage meaning 'As If It Were Yesterday.' Romer Cottage and neighbouring Les Kai are probably the oldest buildings left in this area of North West Kefalonia, and possibly built by the first resident brothers Markos and Andonis in 1600. The village name Markandonata is derived from them. Restaurants: 2 mins drive or 10 mins walk (Antipata) Beach: 5 mins drive (Emblisi) or 30 mins walk (Dafnoudi) Mini market: 2 mins drive or 10 mins walk Fiskardo: 5 mins drive The cottages face west overlooking the garden, pool and sea - perfect to watch the wonderful sunsets!
