Les Kai is the smaller of two 17th Century Stone cottages situated far apart on a peaceful hillside, facing west, overlooking the sea. Originally the stables to the larger farmhouse, Les Kai has been sympathetically restored, and provides a lovely retreat where you can relax and unwind. The sunsets from the terraces and sun deck are wonderful; enjoy your breakfast, lunch or evening drink taking in the fantastic views. Walk down through the terraced garden to the pretty swimming pool, which is not overlooked by either cottage, allowing complete privacy. An ideal holiday location for a those who want to be away from it all in a rural setting but within walking distance of village, tavernas, supermarket and sea and beach. The cottages are set apart from each other and so are completely private, and are connected via a path through the terraced gardens if renting both. Sailing, swimming, cycling, scuba diving and horse riding all nearby.

Les Kai is a charming four room cottage (converted from the original stable block to the main farmhouse) set in a flower filled terraced garden. It is an ideal retreat for honeymooners of any age. The thick stone walls ensure that it remains cool in the summer heat, but snug at cooler times of the year. There is a wood burner in the pretty sitting room, a well equipped kitchen with oven and four ring gas hob, toaster, microwave and kettle, and a large shower room. The swimming pool (which is shared with neighbouring Romer) is reached via a stone path down through the gardens. The pool is not overlooked by either cottage and each cottage retains its own privacy. Your view to the sea is uninterrupted and, being south west facing, enjoys fabulous sunsets from the terrace...

This area of Kefalonia is 'far from the madding crowd' with a wonderful selection of pretty beaches and coves. Ideal for people who like to be 'away from it all' but also within walk of good tavernas and local mini market. The local fishing port of Fiscardo is reminiscent of San Tropez before it was commercialised. The name, Les Kai Itan Ekthes are the nearest English sounds of the original Greek name of the cottage meaning 'As If It Were Yesterday.' Les Kai and neighbouring Romer are probably the oldest buildings left in this area of North West Kefalonia, and possibly built by the first resident brothers Markos and Andonis in 1600. The village name Markandonata is derived from them. Restaurants: 2 min drive or 10 min walk (Antipata). Beach: 5 min drive (Emblisi) or 30 min walk (Dafnoudi). Mini market: 2 min drive or 10 min walk. Fiskardo: 5 min drive. The cottage faces west overlooking the garden, pool and sea - perfect to watch the wonderful sunsets!

We will always look back on our week at Les Kai with fond memories. The cottage provided the perfect balance of ambiance, comfort, privacy and value for the two of us. With several nearby restaurants, tavernas and shops, having a car is not a necessity, but it is recommended. You can walk to beautiful Dafnoudi beach or the quaint town of Fiskardo in about 30 minutes. We certainly hope to go back again and highly recommend Les Kai to all in search of a cozy hideaway.
