The house is presented on a web-page - send mail for address. Picturesque house in mountain (altitude approx 320 meters) village. 60 square meters. Separate kitchen and bathroom w shower. Small village with 15-20 living families. Spring water in village and valley below. Very green. Only a path leads through the village. No cars. No noise. Two terraced gardens.

Mili (Myloi) is a small village 10 km from Chora (main town) on the island Naxos in the Cyclades. The village is situated on the hillside facing the Melanes (black earth) valley with Melanes village on the opposite hillside. Melanes is the main village of the area. Mili is divided in three parts; upper- (pano) middle- (mesi) and lower- (kato) Mili. The village is prospering mainly because of the kouros spring that supplies the village and the (melanes) valley with fresh water. The water is transported in antique style aqueducts down through the picturesque village, in places with small waterfalls. All drinking tap water in the village is thus healthier than anything that can be bought in stores. There are some 20 permanent families living in the village with farming as main income. The village has a small cafe (cafe neon) which is more of a room in the basement of a house. a perfect place to meet up with traditional Greece. Mili is too small for restaurants, shops or supermarkets.

  • The renter must take proper care of the house. There are sheets, blankets and towels in the house. Managing of washing and cleaning is discussed with the house owner in each separate case. Note that the house cost is 200 euros/week October-April. Due to the 'cheap' prize the renter is expected to leave the house tidy with major laundry done.

Transportation.: Naxos is the biggest island in the Cyclades; 428 sq. km. It equals to 1/3 the size of the Swedish island Gotland. There are 44 'living' villages on the island along with endless sights and views. How you go about getting around is totally dependent on personal taste. Most of all roads are paved. Two busses/day up to Mili. (not very convenient). We suggest rent a car or moped/bike. Renting a car is simple and safe. Holiday autos is our choice.

Relaxing holiday

If you want a relaxing holiday and wants to experience ‘the real Greece’ this is the place to go! I’ve rented this house several times and it’s such a lovely place, simple but with everything you need. It’s situated in a very small village. You park your car above the village and walk down to it. No cars = very quiet. If you want to go hiking you just have to step outside the house and start walking. If you want to go to Naxos town or any of the beaches it’s just 15 minutes away by car. You are close to all the tourist places, but it feels like you’re far, far away.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday.

If your dream is to have a totally relaxing and peaceful holiday in a traditional Greek house in a mountain village on an idyllc island, you could do no better than this house in Mili, on Naxos, in the Cyclades. It is all delightful - glorious views, impressive island landscapes, beautiful beaches, warm inviting seas, historic monuments, excellent walks, welcoming tavernas, kind and generous islanders - Mili and Naxos has them all.

Hello

Mili, Naxos is a true picturesque experience. It is a small, but very functional house in a lovely mountain village. You will be amazed by the sound of the sound of the fresh water running thru the aqueducts just below the house. The place gives you time to slow down and relax in an enviroment very genuine and Greek.

I would not recommend the house for party goers or for people who feels it's a tough job to go a little bit away from the town and beach life. However you'll reach the beach in 15 minutes on a bike or in a car.
