In beautiful, romantic location surrounded by olives and vineyards. A large traditional style house, in two separate apartments with blue wooden shutters and tiled floors. 50m from unspoilt Zaga beach, yet only 15 mins walk to the historic centre of Koroni with its colourful waterfront tavernas and shops. Spectacular views of sea, beach and mountains. Large, private sun terrace set in a spacious garden with olive and lemon trees. Two huge living rooms with fully fitted kitchens. Ceiling fans in bedrooms, bathrooms with bath and shower. Two large double bedrooms with twins and one double bedroom all with extensive fitted wardrobes. House is reached by a footpath so there is no passing traffic and it has a magical tranquillity; just the sound of cicadas and the sea. You should travel reasonably light as it is 300m to road and the parking so luggage must be either be carried along beach or down a fairly steep footpath, but the seclusion and views are worth it.

The house may be rented as a whole or in two independent units if coming with friends or family . It has one double bedroom upstairs with spectacular views over the sea and castle, bathroom, kitchen and large living area with terrace that runs whole length of house with uninterrupted views of the sea and mountains and is connected to ground floor by external staircase. The ground floor has two twin bedded rooms, another bathroom, kitchen and large living area and its own large terrace with view of sea through olive grove and is totally independent ideal for friends or family or teenagers. The garden of about one third acre has olive, lemon and orange trees and a large terrace for dining under the stars or sunbathing. There is an outdoor tap for showering and a small path leads from the house down to the beach. It is fully stocked with linen and crockery.

Koroni is an unspoilt historic town with lovely Venetian houses lining a traditional harbour. Our house is on one of the most idyllic beaches in the Mediterranean with nesting loggerhead turtles, white sand and a clear blue sea. The area lies on the edge of a national park with wonderful walks and spectacular views. Within an easy drive there are interesting old towns, castles and ancient sites such as Messine, Pylos and Methoni.

Notes to the rental rates

  • We will ask for a non refundable deposit of 100 euros to secure property which can be offset against final payment. Full payment is needed six weeks before holiday. You will also need to leave 50 - 80 Euros on the kitchen table at end of stay for linen and cleaning depending on occupancy in cash which is deducted from weekly rate. Rates can be negotiated for longer periods and out of season and for children. We trust you to replace any breakages and make good any damage. Maximum occupancy is 6. Always ask...we are flexible on dates and price etc.

Notes:

The house is reached down a steep path of about 400m from the car parking. The advantage is that the house is totally excluded and has easy access to the unspoilt and uncrowded beach, but luggage must be carried to the house down some steps. Internet access is available in Koroni and there is a wifi hot spot in cafes by harbour, if you have your own laptop. There are many excellent bars and restaurants. There are ATMs, supermarkets,bakers, butchers, boat trips, pool and table football and a coffee shop with TV for sport! Taxis are available locally and there is car rental from Kalamata and Koroni.. The cost of a taxi from the airport is approximately 35 euros. Buses can be taken from Athens and take around 5 hrs costing about 20 euros.

Drainage

On no account can any paper, sanitary materials etc be put down the toilets. We are on natural drainage and if the pipes are blocked the current occupiers will be held responsible. So I`m afraid you will need to use the bins provided as with most of Greece.

Rubbish

Rubbish needs to be taken from the house and placed in the bins by beach bar about 150m or in the bins at top of path. Good idea to do daily as in hot weather it can encourage wildlife!

Open fire

Driftwood can be collected in cold weather for the open fire but please use guard provided at night.
