Photos and Description of the Agios Nikolaos holiday house 2 bedrooms, BOTH EN-SUITE. Sleeps 4.

Built in the traditional style of a Mani Tower House. Situated on a 900 square metre plot amidst Olive Trees and surrounded by a traditional style stone wall, the property is in a new development. There are two bedrooms, one is double bedded with EN-SUITE BATHROOM, the other is twin-bedded with EN-SUITE SHOWER ROOM. Both bedrooms have French windows which open onto to a balcony with superb views to the sea. The open plan lounge/diner has French windows which open onto a covered veranda (this offers a cool retreat in the summer months). From the veranda there are two paths through the garden, one leads to the BBQ area and PRIVATE SWIMMING POOL (The pool is 9 x 4 metres, it is just over 1 metre deep at the shallow end and approx 2.2 metres at the deep end). There is a cold water shower at the pool. The other path leads to a door in the wall at the bottom of the property, this leads to a side road/path which is a 10 minute walk to the sand/shingle beach at Pantazi.

Pantazi Beach is shaded by Tamarisk trees and in summer offers sun loungers/umbrellas/changing facilities/ taverna/beach bar/WC. 5 minutes walk to the south of Pantazi is the small fishing village of Ag. Dimitrios and 15 minutes walk along the shoreline to the north is Ag. Nikolaos. There you will find several supermarkets. tavernas, bars, post office, pharmacy and clinic. The larger more touristy village of Stoupa is approx 10 minutes drive to the north. There you will find two large sandy beaches with various facilities and numerous bars and tavernas, many of which are opened all year. The nearby Taigetos Mountain range offer a selection of walks with good sightings of flora and fauna.

Notes: Parents renting with children please be aware: Built in the 'old tradition' means stone steps and paths, together with glass tables, low balconies and no hand bars around the swimming pool. Therefore, parents renting with children do so at their own risk, the owners do not accept any liability. There is usually a pleasant breeze which helps keep the house cool, but if needed, there are overhead fans in the bedrooms. For winter months there are electric heaters in the bathrooms and bedrooms. The lounge/diner is fitted with an open fireplace and electric heaters. There is access to the roof terrace which offers magnificent views of the Taigetos Mountains in one direction and sea views in the other. It also has a small area which is excellent for private sun bathing.

AIRPORTS: Kalamata Airport: Charter flights operate between May and October. Approx 1 hr 15 minutes drive. Athens Airport: 'Scheduled' and 'No Frills' carriers operate throughout the year. A pleasant drive through spectacular scenery which depending on traffic, normally takes just over 4 hours. We can recommend car hire/taxi companies.

OTHER ATTRACTIONS: APPROX. DRIVING TIMES: Under 30 minutes: Kardamyli, dominated by the fortified complex of the Mourtzinoi-Troupakides which is home to the museum. 1 Hour: Kalamata, the Peloponnese capital. 2 Hours: The ruined Byzantine city of Mystras (Sparta). 2-3 Hours: Monemvassia / Olympia. 3.5 Hours: Nafplio, the first capital of modern Greece / The ancient theatre of Epidavros / Ancient Corinth and the Corinth Canal are all within a 3.5 hours drive.

We all thought the property was one of the best we had ever stopped in and was situated in a most beautiful part of Greece. The thing we all seemed to appreciate most besides the property being perfect was that the area was mostly unspoilt, friendly and was very Greek – like it used to be a long time ago. The Mani area was beautiful, just what we were looking for, wild, remote and away from the crowds, the wild life we encountered was diverse to say the least. Firstly, may I say how much we all enjoyed our stay in your house. Everything was finished and equipped to a very high standard, which was much appreciated - I especially liked the use of olive wood for the cupboards. A holiday which we all thoroughly enjoyed in a super house with a marvellous pool. Cynthia Sanders, June 06.
We had a lovely week in your beautiful house and garden.It is a beautiful area of Greece and we loved exploring the little coves and tiny villages around.We were amazed at how unspoilt this part is and had great pleasure just sitting on the terrace in the evenings with a glass of wine.Tony Auger. After a couple of days in Athens we arrived in the Mani. We stayed a week in this beautiful towerhouse whith it's magnificant pool. A beautiful walled and private garden with bbq and clean pool. It was perfect and a contrast with the crowdedness of Athens. The beach is easy to reach but for the other amenities you need a car. Even our parents of 77 years old, were exited olthough they are Algarve lovers.Every evening we went to restaurant Pefko in Stoupa. Very friendly owner, good food and nice prices. We will come back, when we do not have our own cottage in the Mani, before.

We spent a wonderful time in mani tower. Not only was our accomodation simply fantastic but also the area there is the best place to relax. The tower had satisfied us in many ways. The view, the garden, the interior, everything was in order and perfect.I simply recommend it..
