A traditional, renovated Greek house at the edge of a tiny “lost in time” village. The house is very private, set in its own 900m2 plot planted with olive trees, fruit trees, oleander and bougainvillea, with plenty of sunny and shady areas. Inside, there is a spacious sitting area, with integrated dining area and kitchen. The sitting area features a traditional open fireplace and wooden ceiling, air conditioning, a sofa, a CD/cassette player, TV and PlayStation 2 which plays DVDs as well as games. The kitchen is supplied with fridge/freezer, electric oven and hob, kettle, toaster, and ample crockery and utensils. The bathroom has a shower enclosure, sink, toilet and washing machine. The bedrooms are accessed from the wide hallway, which has a single day-bed and is another area to sit and relax. One bedroom has a King size bed, and the other has bunk beds and a cot-bed (suitable from birth to 3 years). The house boasts plenty of wardrobes/drawers/cupboards.

The house has an idyllic village setting, perfectly situated halfway between the towns of Pylos and Methoni. Pylos, a 7min drive away, is a bustling town with local stores. The town has a marina and a large shady square where you can enjoy a drink or meal. You can visit Pylos castle and the archaeological museum. Methoni is just a 5 min drive away, and also boasts a Venetian Castle, tavernas, cafes, shops and a “Blue Flag” beach with safe, shallow waters. A twenty minute drive brings you to Finikounda, a popular but low-key tourist resort, and there are several beautiful beaches on the way. Further afield, you can visit areas of historical interest such as Nestor’s Palace, Ancient Messini and Ancient Olympia. You don’t have to be a birdwatcher to enjoy the natural beauty of Gialova Lagoon, which attracts thousands of birds, including flamingos in autumn! The lagoon is next to Voidokillia beach, judged one of the best in Greece. The city of Kalamata is an hour’s drive from the house.

Garden: The garden area has plenty of places to relax in the sun or under the shade of old trees or umbrellas. The terrace has a wooden table and 4 chairs, and there is a patio area with a plastic table and 4 chairs, and an outside shower. You can enjoy incredible views from the fenced terrace, of the hills and countryside and over the olive groves to the Ionian Sea.

Assistance: The owners do not live in Greece year round, but our English contacts will be on hand to welcome and assist you. A welcome pack of basic groceries will be provided.

Swimming: There is no swimming pool at the house, but several beautiful beaches with safe swimming are just a short drive away. A few cafes/hotels in the area offer free use of their pools.

Other Activities: bird watching, boat hire.

A very nice and quiet house, in a beautiful place, in the middle of olive forest with a lot of way to walk and to discover a wonderful sunrise on Methonie. An enough confortable house with a very good clim and two pleasant shower (one outside). House near the sea (We prefered Navarino Beach near Pylos). In this part of Greece you will feel a great serenity. It's that we found. We were 5. adults and three childs. Sorry for my bad english. Enjoy !
