The village of Stoupa is located on the west side of the Mani peninsula in the Peloponessus. The Mani is a mountainous area with a dramatic and beautiful coastline. It is possible to make excursions to the Neolithic caves of Pirgos Dirou, to the ancient sites of Messenae, Olympia, Epidavros and Mycenae, to the Byzantine citadel of Mystra and to the towerhouses of the Deep Mani.
Stoupa has two lovely beaches and many attractive restaurants and cafes. Along the coast there are lots of other places for swimming and pretty villages. In the mountains there are many delightful villages to visit.
It is possible to hire cars and bicycles in Stoupa.
The nearest airport is Kalamata which has direct flights from many western European cities and connections to Thessaloniki and Heraclion. From Athens it is about 5 and a half hours by car.
