For some Greek history, the Royal Tombs in Vergina are an easy day trip away.

Villages here are in close proximity to one another and an easy drive to have coffee on the platia in one village, a seaside lunch with tasty fresh fish and inexpensive local wine in another village and treating yourself to a few glasses of ouzo as you watch the spectacular sunset in yet another village.
