Photos and Description of this Corfu holiday villa Private pool, 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, Close to Golf Course. 4 persons

10 minutes from Corfu town and the airport, 10 minutes from west coast sandy beaches and one mile from Aqualand. Four miles to the Golf Course. The property is at the end of a private road and borders a small lake. It is three years old, all rooms are air conditioned and it has a large covered veranda shaded by a mature Olive tree overlooking a beautiful private swimming pool. The view is of the hills on the other side of the lake. The village is 100 yards away, along a country road and has several Tavernas, a mini market and a bakery. The site has Olive trees, walnut trees, cypresses, figs and pears. Wild life includes snowy egrets, herons, lake birds and an eagle. This was the Villa that was shown in channel 4's 'A Place in The Sun'. The Prospecting family said they wanted one just like it.

Corfu is the largest and greenest of the seven Ionian Islands. The Villa is on the perimeter of Aghios Ioannis, home of the Aqualand Water sports park. It is the countryside but within easy reach of Corfu Town, the beautiful west coast beaches and the airport.. There is also an eighteen hole golf course nearby.

Notes: The Lounge has two six foot settees in it which make very comfortable beds. There is a dining table for eating inside, but mostly we eat on the Veranda or on the patio in the garden. The Villa is designed with 'Cathedral Ceilings' which makes it cool in the heat of the day.

There is a regular bus service and George, the Village Taxi Driver is not expensive. A car is useful but not essential. 13 euros (one way)will get you to Pelekas Beach or Aghios Gordis beach by taxi, and there is a regular bus service to Glyfada Beach (1 euro fifty each way). There are two bus services (green and blue) that go into town from the village and the ride is great fun. Also you get to see the island from the back roads.

We spent the second week of a summer holiday here, and enjoyed the home from home feel of the villa. The pool was lovely and the extras in the cupboard made for an easy holiday.
The Aquapark is just a mile down the road, which made a good day out with the young teens. Sometimes if the wind was in the wrong direction we could hear the music from the Aquapark, but other than natures noises and that, it was very quiet.
Definately recommend a car, as everything is a drive away and its hilly around.
Only being 10 mins drive from Corfu Town is a great asset as its a lovely old town to walk around.
Would definately go back for a quiet break, without the teens who did get a bit bored with lack of people to mix with, so would really only recommend for families with younger children or couples.
