Villa Amelia is a newly constructed villa completed in the summer of 2006. It is situated in the village of Metaxata with stunning views of the most imposing Mt Aenos (1626m) and the castle of St George, the old capital of Kefalonia. The villa stands on its own grounds with an attractive well-maintained garden, private swimming pool (non-diving) & BBQ area. The villa is fully air conditioned, with two bedrooms, both en-suite with bath & shower. The downstairs bathroom has a shower enclosure. The ground floor comprises an open- plan large sitting room area, with 2 sofas, (one converts to a single bed), TV, DVD & Stereo, which is MP3 compatible. There is a fully fitted kitchen with hob, oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, washing machine & dishwasher. The dining area seats six. Outside, there are extensive patios overlooking the pool with dining table, sun loungers & parasols. Villa Amelia is 110m2 on a site of 700m2. A complimentary pack is waiting for you upon your arrival.

Villa Amelia is located in the village of Metaxata, a small traditional village with many beautiful gardens. It is a 10 minute drive to the capital Argostoli & the popular resort of Lassi. There are many beaches within an 8/15 mins drive: Avithos, a blue flag beach, is just 8 minutes by car. In 1823, Lord Byron stayed in Metaxata for several months. He was inspired by the natural beauty of the village and the pleasant demeanour of the locals. He wrote many poems praising this wonderful place.His statue stands in the central square of Metaxata. The village has one mini- market which is 5 minutes walk from the villa. Lakithra, the next village 1km away, has a few mini-markets, a bakery and a taverna which is very popular with the locals. There is also a cake shop which has a sinful array of pastries, for those of us who are weak! The villa is well positioned to explore the island. Metaxata along with neighbouring Kourkoumelata is one of the islands most picturesque areas.

Notes to the rental rates

  • A non-refundable booking deposit of £150 per week is required to confirm any booking. The balance is due 8 weeks prior to departure. Should only two people wish to rent the villa during the low and mid season, there will be a 10% discount per week. Maid service is once a week. Linen and towel change provided. Pool is also serviced on a regular basis. We cannot take credit card payment. Bank draft or bank transfer would be our preferred option.
