Large luxury apartment in Greece overlooking the sea in the Peloponnese. The stunning views look out towards the Greek islands of Egina and Agistri. The village of Ancient Epidavros is nearby with its good restaurants and lovely harbour. The beach is only 300 metres down the hill. The apt which has one very large bedroom and sleeps 4 is bigger than most with 2 bedrooms in Greece. This Greek apartment which is larger than most in Greece with 2 bedrooms, set in olive groves overlooking the sea in Argolid Greece, is not far from Nafplio and near the ancient theatre of Epidaurus. The Peloponnese is wonderful for visiting historical sites such as Epidavros, Mycenae, Nafplio, Corinth,and Athens is easily accessible. Guests can use the swimming pool at the hotel near the beach. The apt is fully equipped with cutlery crockery and glasses for six and has air-conditioning in the bedroom. The living room is large and comfortably furnished including fridge washing machine and full cooker.

This very spacious apartment with marble floors is furnished to a high standard with a formal dining table and four chairs, a three seater upholstered sofa and a two seater sofa which converts to a slightly larger than normal single bed. There is a washing machine full cooker fridge iron and ironing board. The large airy bedroom , which is air-conditioned has a double bed and a single bed, 2 double fitted wardrobes, a dressing table and a rattan chair. Both rooms have French windows opening onto a large stone terrace from which there are fabulous views, across the tops of the olive trees, over the Saronic Gulf. There is a large shower room. There are a table, 4 chairs and a sun umbrella as well as 4 sun loungers on the terrace. The apartment has its own private entrance from the terrace, and car parking is available just at the top of the stone steps to the driveway. Towels and linen are provided, but please bring your own beach towels.

Only 1 1/2 hours from Athens airport,The apt situated within olive and citrus groves on a hillside in Gialasi, just south of the picturesque fishing village of Ancient Epidavros, which is about 60 kilometres from the Corinth Canal. The panoramic views are stunning; looking across the sea to the islands of Egina and Agistri and the rugged peninsular of Methena. 15 min drive over the hill behind is the world famous ancient theatre of Epidavros where operas and Greek plays are performed each year during the Epidavros festival. Mycenae, Agamemnon's city, is an hour away. Forty minutes away is Corinth with train service to Athens. Nafplio, the first capital of modern Greece, and arguably the most beautiful in all of Greece with its Venetian, Turkish and neo-classical architecture is an easy drive. The village itself surrounds the head of a natural harbour and has its own ancient theatre where concerts are held in the summer. Gialasi beach is a 2 minute drive away, or an eight minute walk.

Notes: The apartment is very spacious and airy with marble floors throughout. Magnificent views can be seen from both rooms, and if you wake early enough, you will be stunned by the fantastic sun rises over the peninsular of Methena. The large bedroom has a double bed, and a single bed, which together with the sofa bed in the sitting room, provides very comfortable accommodation for up to four. We have had several families of four staying, and all have praised the standard. The one thing that everyone does as soon as they get out of the car on arrival is to stare spell bound at the view. The beach is at the bottom of the hill with sun loungers available at no cost - first come first served basis. Our guests can use the large pool at Aristotelis Hotel at the bottom of the hill. There is a small charge, but this includes a drink. The apartment is well equipped with place settings for six including wine glasses. There are adequate cooking utensils and kitchen knives. Tea towels are provided.

The Parthenon of Athens: It may be of interest to know that several guests who brought a telescope with them, have seen the Parthenon from the properties on a clear day.

Safety: In view of the recent concern over safety of Greek holiday properties, please note that we do NOT have any gas supply to the properties. The water and central heating boiler is oil fired, and the boiler is housed in a separate boiler house. The boiler is ventilated by a flume into a separate chimney which is higher than the roof level. We drink the water from the tap, which is very good. However, bottled water is readily available from the village, and the little grocery shops at the bottom of the hill.

Other Activities: Opera, concerts, boat trips to islands, visits to ancient sites, walking, bird watching, hydrofoil to Pireus

- advantages : beautiful place, well maintained (there is a gardener), pleasant villa, big rooms elegantly furnished, Gil is very efficient and reactive
- disadvantages : the fridge is too small for 3 person, no freezer, few kitchenware
Owner's Response: The fridge provided is a normal sized under the worktop Bosch with an ice compartment. More than adequate for a holiday apartment sleeping four.

Apart from place settings for 6 people comprising cutlery-6 pieces per place; crockery-8 pieces per place; glasses-2 pieces per place, we provide 3 saucepans, 1 frying pan, 1 caserole pan, carving dish, souffle dish, carving set, 3 kitchen and 1 bread knives, corkscrew, potato peeler, pasta tongs, bottle opener, scissors, cafetier, ramikins, juice squeezer, 3 steel spoons/fish slice, 3 wooden spoons, 2 serving spoons, iron and board, bread board, chopping boards, garlic press, placemats and coasters, grater, kettle, toaster, tray, teapot, toast rack, washingup and laundry bowls, beer and shot glasses, eggcups, glass water jug, milk jug, sugar bowl, 2 serving bowls, large salad bowl with servers, tea strainer, colander, tea towels, oven gloves. If there is anything we have missed, let us know.

We had a lovely honeymoon at the Villa Rosa in April 2009.
The apartment is brilliant, with everything you would expect in a normal home. Little things like the washing machine and cooking-utilities made things so much easier. It's all very spacious, clean and comfortable, and has a good amount of privacy. The terrace is great for some sun and peace, and Epidavros is a lovely little fishing village just down the road, with some great cafes and restaurants, and enough grocery shops to keep you going. There's also a nice beach at the bottom of the hill which was nice and quiet and relaxed whilst we were there.

A car/moped/bicycle is probably a good thing as the trip through the orange groves into/back from the village, whilst lovely, can take a while. Luckily for us, Gil & Judy were excellent hosts and went totally out of their way to accommodate us and make sure we had the best holiday we possibly could, but at the same time weren't at all intrusive.

Two must-sees whilst there are the Ancient Theatre nearby and Nafplio (esp. the views from Palamidi Fortress), a brilliant little town not too far away.

All-in-all it was a great holiday, nice and warm, peaceful, with very comfortable, affordable accommodation and the freedom to do as much or as little as you like.
