Our seaside villa with pool is newly built and a wonderful location for a relaxing holiday. It is situated only a few metres from a long stretch of sandy coast, perfect for an early morning swim or catching an octopus for lunch. The villa has a large open plan living/kitchen/dining area, with terraces on three sides, one to the pool, one covered veranda and an open breezy veranda facing the sea. The views from the villa are enchanting, taking in the long curving coastline and islands, with the island of Hydra in the distance. The house is furnished to a very high standard with fully fitted kitchen and dishwasher. Only a few minutes drive from the pretty town of Porto Heli which is well supplied with excellent restaurants, tavernas, coffee bars and clubs. The most interesting areas of the Peloponnese are within easy driving distance and a short boat ride will take you to the islands of Hydra and Spetses.

Location

The Peloponnese is one of the most interesting parts of Greece as well as being among the most beautiful. Rich in history but equally rich in spectacular scenery and crystal clear seas. Porto Heli is an easy two and half hours drive from Athens airport, it is a very popular holiday destination and well supplied with supermarkets, banks, excellent restaurants and a lively nightlife. The heavily indented coastline provides a wide choice of beaches and coves that never get too crowded. The wonderful natural bays around which the village is built are perfect for all kinds of water sports. Every summer it is the chosen destination for royalty and celebrities from all over the world and they know why they chose the area!

Travelling

Most people arrive at Athens airport and from there it is a two and half hour drive to Porto Heli, motorway as far as Corinth where you will cross the Corinth canal and then follow the picturesque coast road, passing close to the ancient theatre at Epidaurus. If you do not want to drive, there is a bus from the airport to the port of Piraeus where there is a regular hydrofoil service to Porto Heli, journey time is around two and half hours. It is also possible to catch a ferry boat from Italy to Patras and from there it is a three hour drive to Porto Heli. Detailed driving instructions are provided.

What to do and see

For active people there is plenty to do and see in and around Porto Heli. All kinds of watersports (including skiing, sailing, windsurfing and diving), biking, walking and horse riding. For explorers there are many places of historical and cultural interest within easy driving distance of the villa. Places of interest include the ancient theatre at Epidaurus, Mycenae, Tiryns and the attractive town of Nafplion dominated by it's impressive castle. It is also worth visiting the islands of Spetses (10 minute boat ride) and Hydra (45 minutes by hydrofoil) or Poros (an enjoyable drive up the coast and five minute crossing).
