Budapest holiday apartment

My mother and I spent 3 days here at the end of May and were very pleased with the apartment. It was absolutely spotless and incredibly well equipped with everything you could possibly need in the kitchen and bathroom. There is a good size double room and a large living room / kitchen with a sofa that folds out into a very comfy double bed. This apartment would easily sleep 4 people if you don't mind sharing beds. It is on 4th Floor but there is a lift to take you up. It has cable TV, a DVD player and wireless internet. If you were staying longer in the city it would be a great place to make your home for a week or two. We didn't cook because we were only there for a few days but I think we wouldn't have had any complaints about the facilities. You're right in the middle of the city, less than a minute from the Opera and Andrassy Street and you're right on Hajos Utca which has lots of little restaurants and pubs which are absolutely buzzing in the evening. Go out the door, turn left and you'll find two bars/restaurants at the end of the street. The one on the far side of the street has great breakfasts, lovely salads, quesadillas and lemonade. The other one which is on the side nearer the apartment has very nice (and cheap) cocktails. A lively little area to be in but not noisy. All in all I loved this place. My only complaint would be that the air conditioning doesn't seem to do much more than make noise, we just turned it off in the end and did without.
Tip: Ask them to arrange a pick-up at the airport, they'll be waiting for you on arrival and it takes so much of the hassle out of getting there - money well spent!
