Charming house in a charming village

There were five of us, husband, wife, 2 sons (22 and 18 years old) and sister. First of all as another reviewer mentioned there is actually the main house and an additional separate section. The main house has a lovely master bed room with very comfortable bed, a modern bathroom (shower not bath) kitchen, living area with a wonderful wood stove, and then another sleeping area with two single beds that is not actually a separate room. Even though we were there in late Autumn the wood stove kept us cozy. (There is also a wood stove in the kitchen which we used a couple of times just for fun).
The separate apartment had a large bed room with two beds and a kitchen area which was not really functional. This was a great place for our sons so they could get away from us old fogies if they wanted to. The house had a guest book full of great suggestions, lots of games, books, and pamphlets of things to do in the area.
Outside the house there is a walled in garden with fruit trees. We made two amazing apple pies from the apples that were still on the apple tree. Also there were fine bikes in the shed which we used extensively. There are usually 4 bikes, but we asked for a fifth one and one of the caretakers managed to provided it.
We particularly loved the village. It was so clean and peaceful and amazingly quiet. There was a small grocery store a few meters up the street that had almost everything you really need. We bought fresh bread there every morning. Also attached to the grocery is a cafe / bar. We only really discovered this the last day, but there you could get a good cappuccino for almost free it was so inexpensive.
There were also hikes and bike rides to take in all directions.
All and all we had a spectacular time, we were completely comfortable in the house and we would love to return!
The only problem we had was that the separate apartment had not been aired before we arrived and it smelled a bit damp for the first day of two.
So make sure you remind the caretakers to air the apartment out if you plan to make use of it.
