Pondok Wisata Kubun Impian is situated in the village of Seraya Barat , one kilometer east of Taman Ujung Water Palace , in Karangasem , East Bali . Set on 2000 sq m of tropical gardens the Kebun Impian consists of :- Our family temple , 4 private bungalows , The main house , Restaurant , Swimming pool + Bale Bengong , Tropical gardens . The Ujung to Amed road is our northern boundry and the Lombok Straights ( literally-the bottom of the garden ) is our southern boundry

Nearest Airport: Ngurah Rai International Airport at 60 Kilometres
Nearest Ferry: Padang Bai - to Lombok at 20 Kilometres

Located in the village of Seraya Barat, 1km east of the Taman Ujung waterpalace, which is 60km east of Denpasar on the coast looking towards Lombox. 5 minutes away is a traditional market town of Amlapura,what you don't find here are tourists and souvenirs. You will experience on this side of the island the true Bali with very few tourists. A short trip away is the wonderfully quaint fishing village of Padang Bai where if you really feel adventurous you can take the ferry to Lombox

If you want independence , we can arrange a rental car or motor bike for you . If you wish to drive in Indonesia please bring an international drivers licence with you ( plus your national driver's licence .

Massage & Cooking Courses: MASSAGE, Pamanku Sunary ( A Hindu Priest ) is a very experienced masseur . For one and a half hours he pampers , rejuvenates and heals your body . The SALON comes to you . Just want to relax--have a manicure , pedicure or massage at home . Call M'bok Sami and she will visit Kebun Impian . COOKING COURSES . You enjoy to cook ? Why not take a cooking course with Wayan . A trip to the market followed by cooking and finally eating what you have prepared . Surprise and delight your friends back home with an authentic Balinese meal .

Balinese Dancing Lessons and Performances: We ( along with other expats in the village ) sponsor the local traditional dance group . The local children can be seen twice a week learning the complex dances . Performances can be arranged for special occasions . Diving , Snorkling & Fishing . All these water sports can be easily arranged as we are close to Amed , Padang Bai , Candi Dasa and Tulamben . For further information look in the guest information book in each of our bungalows .

Other Activities: Balinese / Indonesian market trips can be arranged along with guided tours of Bali.

My family and I have had two of the best holidays of our lives at this truly exceptional location. The magic of falling asleep to the sound of the sea and awaking to the waves on the shore. Eating breakfast watching the fishermen in the distance and knowing that the day ahead will be just perfect, with shopping trips to the market with our host and supper cooked from our purchases under the instruction of Wayan ( I am now quite an accomplished Indonisean cook). Nothing was to much trouble, and the people truly wonderful. We watched traditional balinese dancers practicing weekly the other side of the fishpond opposite the beackside bungalow. Our only regret is that we cant visit more often.

We stayed with John and Wayan for one week in July 2009. We immediately felt at home and have been treated like queens and kings throughout our stay. (we were with two families, ten people altogether). The rooms were wonderful, the site breathtaking and superbly relaxing, but first and foremost, it was the kindness and hospitality displayed by John, Wayan, and their entire crew, that made our holiday unforgettable. Local dance group performance, cooking classes, Balinese buffet, bike/hike tours, market visits, you name it and they helped us arrange it. A true delight.

Favourite place to go after a busy week

Excellent service provided by friendly staff and owners,they will do their utmost to make your stay an unforgettable one.The owner''s wife is a marvellous cook and can even teach you to cook Balinese and take you to the market to buy the ingredients,such as fresh fish, fruit and vegetables.
The rooms are o.k.We only used them at night,because we could not get enough from being close to the swimming pool and relaxing on superb cushions near the sea.
We already stayed here before and will certainly visit the place again and leave like reborn to the busier places in Bali after a very good massage by the local priest.
For us it is one of the best places in the world to stay for a week or so .
("We" are a Dutch couple of nearly 70 years old)

We (father, mother, grandpa, grandma, 2 children aged 5 and 6) stayed one week with John and his wife and enjoyed every day. The place is quiet, privat and clean. But the best are the people.
It`s a fine mixture between getting in touch with the locals, getting insider information and having all questions answered. Wayans cooking is one of the best we had in Bali. Just 10 Minutes down the road you find Ujung water palace and John arranged his brother in law to take us around the eastcoast. On the shore you can find, at low tide, nice shells - our kids loved the place! They were allowed to feed the fish in the pond- as well the fish ate the moskitos- we just saw very few. We stayed the last week of July. Twice a week a local dance school class of young kids comes to practice traditional balinese dancing.
I can highly recommend the place!
