As seen in Marie Claire, Villa Majapahit is a new two storey large 4 bedroom villa (400sq m under roof) located inside the Le Meridien Nirwana Golf & Spa Resort, positioned along the magnificent south-west coast of Bali, Indonesia, with breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean and Greg Norman's popular Bali Nirwana Golf Course. The Villa is just 20min from Semanyak. It is luxuriously styled in a unique modern Asian decor inspired by the owners' many years of living in Southeast Asia. Inside the Villa is a modern kitchen, 5 bathrooms with Kohler sanitary ware, sleeping accommodation for up to 8 people, a SONY/Yamaha equipped home theatre room with over 100 DVD titles and an X-Box (with 15 games supplied), a large internal and external living area (150sq m), and, amongst other things, an IPOD enabled villa wide Yamaha amplifier and speaker system. Villa Majapahit is located next to the world famous 16th century Tanah Lot temple, which juts outs out of the adjacent coast line carving out 2 metre surf along the way. The Villa is around 30km (30-40 min) from Bali's International Airport. Bali is easy to get to from New Zealand, Asia, Australia, the US and Europe (either via Hong Kong or Singapore). | Notes: | As a guest of Villa Majapahit, you have full access to the facilities of the 5 star hotel, Le Meridien Nirwana Golf and Spa Resort. This provides you with access to room service (although not needed), daily newspapers, free gymnasium use, free use of hotel pools and tennis courts (equipment rental fees do apply). In summary, your Majapahit Guest status entitles you to; (1) Complimentary use of the Le Meridien Hotel swimming pool, tennis, squash, gym (hitting partners, equipment hire etc will be charged at normal hotel rates). Guest Services
The Le Meridien hotel has a special Guest Services desk that can arrange island tours such as volcano tours, helicopter rides, parasailing, rental cars, newspapers and accommodate most special requests including in-villa catering. All these additional services are not included in your rental rate.

The golf course is a Greg Norman signature award winning golf course. Majapahit Villa is located on the 12th hole of the course overlooking the dog leg down to the surf side 12th green. Greg Norman says that 'The course is a visual masterpiece of dramatic ocean views and lush Balinese landscapes. The course offers a spectacular challenge and a unique world-class experience for golfers of all skill levels.' Designed by legendary golfer Greg Norman, Nirwana Bali's 18-hole course is one of the most photographed and challenging golf courses in the world. With three holes running along the cliffs of the Indian Ocean and terraced rice paddies providing unique hazards the course will test the accuracy and consistency of a PGA Professional and still be enjoyable for the average golfer. Set on the southwest coast of Bali 45 minute drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport, Nirwana Bali Golf Club is the centerpiece of tof the fully integrated Nirwana Bali Resort.

My family and I spent 18 fantastic days at Villa Majapahit in May 2008. We had a really amazing time and have no complaints at all about the villa.
First contact with the owner, Tom, was very helpful and we had good communication with him before and during the trip. Made (pronounced Mar Day) and Dewa (the house staff) looked after us superbly. Made is a really amazing cook (my wife is a professional caterer and thought she was wonderful) and Dewa ensured the house was beautifully clean all the time and our laundry was done every day. The villa itself was spotless and everything was exactly as described and we made good use of the villas facilities - our children were hardly ever out of the pool and we watched a few DVD’s and plugged our iPod into the excellent stereo system. The villa is in the grounds of Le Meridian Nirwana and you also have use of their excellent facilities. We made good use of the huge swimming pools, spa, restaurants, a first rate kids club, the gym and of course the golf course - all of which were of the highest quality. We also used a driver recommended by Made – Toni – who drove us all over the country very cheaply and was an excellent and cheerful bilingual guide. We had done some research on some of Bali’s better restaurants and ate well around the island. We particularly enjoyed lunch at La Lucciola in Seminyak, lunch at Casu Luna in Ubud and dinner at Hotel Tugu. Beers watching the sun go down at Echo Beach weren’t bad either!
I guess I should point out that the villa is a good 35/40 minute drive from the party life in Kuta – so if you are looking to go out and party every night it might feel a little remote. We certainly didn’t miss it…
All in all we could not have had a better trip to Bali and I would thoroughly recommend the villa to anyone – it was every bit as good as we hoped it would be.

Thanks for your suggestions re plastic cups for the pool area. We are adding them to our cupboard this weekend. Also, we will add an indoor mountable IPOD speaker system soon to balance the external speakers.
