Ballyherkin Cottage is a recently renovated traditional Irish cottage, only 6 miles from Kinsale, and close to local beaches. Sleeps 4 (1 double, 2 single beds), fully equipped kitchen (inc. washing machine and dishwasher) and bathroom (WC, bath and shower), living room with wood burning stove, garden with patio area, use of drying room. Parking for 1 car, 2 cars by arrangement. Local amenities: 0.5 mile to shop, pub and restaurant (Nohoval village), 1.5 mile to Oysterhaven Watersports Centre, choice of local beaches, clay pigeon shooting, sea angling, scenic walks, golf, 6 miles Kinsale/Carrigaline, 15 miles Cork City. Pets welcome by prior agreement.

Ballyherkin Cottage is located 6 miles from Kinsale, just 0.5 mile from Nohoval village, and 1 mile from the Oysterhaven estuary. It is situated in a rural position, adjacent to the owners farmhouse. Local amenities include a small shop , pub and restaurant (in Nohoval village). Oysterhaven Watersports Centre (for sailing, windsurfing and kayaking) is just 1.5 miles away, and there is a choice of fine local beaches. Activities in the area include clay pigeon shooting, sea angling, scenic walks, golf and diving. It is just 6 miles from Kinsale, the Gourmet Capital of Ireland, 6 miles from Carrigaline a busy market town, and just 15 miles from Cork City and 10 miles from the airport. It is a perfect location for exploring West Cork and Cork City and its surrounds.

Found Ballyherkin Cottage a lovely place to stay - very peaceful and comfortable. It was well equipped and plenty of room. Its in a good location- within easy reach of the airport, Cork city, Kinsale etc. The owners were very welcoming and although they live next door, did not intrude on our holiday. They provided tea, coffee, milk, bread etc for when we arrived which we really appreciated after a long journey. Ballyherkin is in a lovely area, and the local village has a pub, restaurant and shop. Would definately recommend it to friends.

Nice cottage in peaceful area

The cottage was in good condition and surprisingly spacious. The owners were very welcoming and helpful and provided all the essentials for a comfortable stay, including local bread and kitchen basics such as butter and milk for the first night and in general, the cottage was very well equipped. The cottage is overlooked by the owners' garden but the owners left us in peace to enjoy our holiday, while being available if we needed them. The cottage is quite out of it and although Novohal is walkable, it's quite a hilly walk so we drove. We found plenty to do in the area for sightseeing, as long as you don't mind driving an hour or so to get to places. If we ever did return to the area, we'd happily stay in Ballyherkin cottage again and we thought, in all, it was excellent value for money.
