Originally an 18th.century farm house built from local stone, overlooking Barleycove beach, Crookhaven harbour and the Islands beyond. Restored by the local architect it offers every modern facility whilst retaining the charm of its origins. The wooden floor and open beamed ceiling on the ground floor accommodate the large open plan living room, dining area and kitchen. The cottage is a cosy and romantic getaway where you can walk for miles through an unspoiled landscape, or visit the neighbouring villages, take a boat to the Islands or just relax, de-stress and listen to the birdsong and the tranquil sound of the sea.

Located on the Mizen peninsular, the most South Westerly part of Europe, jutting out into the Atlantic Ocean it is one of the most beautiful natural landscapes on the coast of Ireland. Situated 12 miles from Schull and 30 miles from Bantry where you can have around of golf or visit the local markets or take a boat to the Islands. The unspoilt rugged scenery has a profusion of fuscia and woodbine and an abundance of wild flowers. Here you can explore the nearby castles, stone circles and ancient burial tombs or just stroll down to one of the nearby beaches.

We have just got back from the cottage and wanted to say thank you for letting us stay.
We had a lovely time completely relaxing and taking in the amazing views from the patio.
The cottage is very cosy and has everything you would need for a romantic week away.
We would love to return one day!

We stayed at the cottage April 2007. Unbelievable views!! The cottage is cozy, clean, super-comfortable...absolutely perfect. My husband proposed to me there. What can I say...I will neve forget it.
