If you are looking to get away and relax in 2008 then consider Annies Cottages. The cottage is situated in a little village between the towns of Clonakilty and Dunmanway. The cottage comprises of two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs and a sitting / kitchen / dining room with open fire downstairs. There is also an acre of landscaped gardens and patio area. There is a private car park. The village has two pubs within walking distance of the cottage where you can sit and relax with the locals. Closeby are fresh water lakes and forests. The beaches are just 9 miles away, the town of Clonakilty with numerous restaurants is 10 miles away.

Annies Cottages is located in the heart of West Cork, only 9 miles to numerous beaches and the renown Lodge and Spa in Inchydoney. A car is recommended if you want to explore such scenic spots as Gougane Barra, The Beara Peninsula, Lough Hyne or the Mizen Head. There are some excellent fishing in the region. Surfing is becoming extremely popular in such beaches as Inchydoney and the Long Strand. Locals towns such as Clonakilty (8Miles), Rosscarbery (9Miles) Glandore (11Miles), Kinsale (20miles) offer some great restaurants to suit most palettes. There are two pubs within walking distance if you fancy a few drinks in a quiet relaxed atmosphere.

We enjoyed ourselves greatly in Ballygurteen. We were traveling all over West Cork so it was an ideal location. Meeting some of the local folks was a very nice experience. The accomodations were very nice. Simple and not fancy but certainly what we needed for the week. We ate our breakfast there every day but did not prepare any other meals. Our only complaint would have to be the small bathtub and no shower. For a tall man the tub was a bit difficult but we were able to manage and it did not diminish our stay in any way. Just added to the quaintness. Would not hesitate to return there.
