Photos and Description of this County Donegal holiday cottage Superb Thatched 200 year old Cottage set in 7 acres

This traditional cottage, dating from the late 1700s has been lovingly restored to the highest standards. It was re- thatched in the traditional Donegal way from flax (which Irish linen is made from) and sits in nearly seven acres running down to its own river. The UVPC front door was taken off and a traditional Irish half door was handmade and installed allowing lovely country views from the kitchen. There are two bedrooms, one with a king size (5ft) bed based on a traditional Irish style dating from 1918 and a twin room both with pocket sprung mattress, walnut floors and beautiful, fine quality linen. The bathroom is tiled in pale pink marble, with underfloor heating, 8' drenching shower, free standing slipper bath and heated towel rail. Robes and fluffy towels are provided. The kitchen/living room has an open fire, two arm chairs, a handmade table and four chairs and a gorgeous pink and oak dresser. There is a Rangemaster cooker, with ceramic hob and Miele appliances.

Lovely traditional thatched cottage with all mod cons, lovely and quiet, in the middle of countryside, very well maintained and clean. Owner provided lovely luxurious bedding , toweling and bath robes, even the basic food requirements, milk, butter,bread etc, cannot recommend it more it was lovely !! Killybegs is a lovely fishing port and Ardara was close by with its traditional pubs & restuarants,
Good walks to be had nearby as well as stunning beaches.
