An Teach Ban, Irish for 'the white house' is our own vacation home built in the traditional Irish Cottage style but with all modern conveniences. It sits at the waters edge on beautiful Kingstown Bay, 15 min drive from Clifden along the scenic Sky Road. The house enjoys spectacular views of the Bay and Atlantic Ocean beyond and looks back to the majestic, heather covered Twelve Pins Mountains.

An Teach Ban is the perfect base for exploring Connemara and the surrounding areas. Clifden, less than 15 minutes away, is known as the 'Capital of Connemara' and is full of interesting shops, very good restaurants and pubs where you can enjoy traditional Irish music. You can easily make a day trip to Galway City or the Aran Islands or take the ferry from Cleggan to Inisboffin Island and enjoy a lobster or two for lunch. There are excellent walking tours of the area run by an archaeologist, bookings can be made in Clifden. If you enjoy golf the picturesque and challenging Connemara Golf Links is about a half hours drive. Sea angling and fly fishing are readily available in the area.

Local activities walking, mountaineering, swimming, cycling, horse riding, water skiing, diving, golf, surfing, sailing, fishing, wind-surfing, mountain biking
