Excellent fishing in local lakes & rivers, beautiful walks, peaceful environment

Charmingly refurbished Irish Stone Cottage. Located in a beautiful Award Winning village in the Irish Midlands. Close proximity (2km) to Lough Ree and the River Shannon.

The cottage has lots of Irish character and sleeps 4 people. It is wheelchair accessible and has an outdoor patio area with BBQ facilities. The cottage is set in a quiet rural village with beautiful walks and stunning scenery. With its close proximity to the lakes and rivers where trout, pike and other coarse fish are plentiful, it is truly a fisherman's paradise. Fishing boats, engines and ghillies are available to hire by special arrangement. There are drying and storage for gear, baits, etc. In the locality there is easy access to multiple golf courses, horse-riding and trekking, walks, pubs, churches, etc. Babysitting services can be arranged in advanced. Newtowncashel is steeped in Irish History and the lake features several small but historic islands including Saints Island, Quaker Island and the Black Islands.

a very nice place in center Ireland for hollydays

Last may was my sixth time in that cottage : always a very, very kind welcome from Doreen and Martin, and a very confortable stay.
Newton Cashel is a peacefully village near from the Lough Ree where you can find good fishing conditions for trout and pike from march to november.
Ask anything you want : Martin will make it easilly !
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Girls Getaway, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children
