Dream Holiday

Best house I have stayed at in Ireland lovely owners really helpfull. The house is spacious with a huge garden and very private access to the lake with wonderful fishing and the only sound being the birds. The dining room is gorgeous and the main sitting room has an amazing open fire which is better than the photograph. There are all the usual mod cons like dish washer washing machine, dvd players and flat screen tv's. The kitchen is large and well equiped. There is so much to see in the area. This is my third year staying and I will be comming again as soon as i can. It is better than the description and bigger than you expect especially good if you are looking for a relaxing, quiet holiday. lovely, beautiful i cant recommend it enough
Owner's Response: Harvey and his family were wonderful people to have staying at the cottage and it is great to welcome them year after year. It always amazes me how many fish they catch in 2 weeks. They are a family who really appreciate the lake and the variety of facilities available all round it. Last time they came they told me they stayed completely in the area and didnt travel to any other part of Ireland. Between fishing, sailing, wind surfing, swimming, horse riding, golf and mountain biking they said there was no need to go anywhere else. Their teenage kids loved it. I look forward to them comming again.

I fell in love with this Irish countryside cottage

Review Submitted: March 11, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2008
My partner and I have for a long time wanted to spend a long vacation in the beauiful Irish countryside and had been on the look out for the ideal place. Our best friend and her husband shared our quest for adventure and we booked ourselves here. We had high expectations of the place considering we travel around quite a bit and expect good standards of comfort. This place just bowled me over. We could not imagine that there is still so much of nature kept intact. Starting from the country roads leading to here, the old fashioned architecture, the orchards, the gardens, the lake, the harbour, the fire place.....it had everything. I could write a book on my vacation here but for a start I just wanted to put down my deepest appreciation for the place and its owners who have kept it so well, there was little else we needed to step out for. We explored the place on long romantic walks down the lakeside, sat for hours on the harbour enjoying the moment, lazed around sipping champagne in the beautiful ambience the house provided and chatted till dark in the beautiful garden outside. It was the perfect getaway for us from our hectic lives to enjoy something that we thought could nowadays be only seen in the olden classic movies. We were not left in want for anything and the owners were very helpful when required. I highly reccommend this place to all of you who want to getaway with your family or partner or friends or parents or even by yourself. It is worth every bit and more and I sure will be back again. Joanna

Relaxing wonderful lakeside holiday
LondonTom  London, UK
Review Submitted: January 19, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2008
We spent 2 weeks at this beautiful cottage. We have some great memories picking apples and plums in the adjoining orchard and fishing on the private harbour. The house was clean, well equipped and much bigger than we expected. The 4 living rooms and 2 flatscreen televisions meant that there was plenty of room for everyone in our party. The furniture in all the rooms is very compfortable and to a high standard. The landscaped gardens all round the house provided the perfect place for the kids to play with no fear of traffic on the road and a great place for adults to read a book. We loved the well equipped kitchen and the adjoining dining room. The owner was very helpfull and provided us with much information on the best pubs and restaurants in the area. The nearby village of Garrykennedy has 2 great pubs and the restaurants in the area are superb - we visited 3 of them. We went wind surfing on the lake and another day we rented out canoes from a place close to Kilaloe. The surrounding area is perfect for mountain biking which we did on a number of occasions. A memorable time. I highly recommend this property and the beautiful people who run it
Owner's Response: Tom and his family were enthuastic people who really appreicated the natural beauty of the house and the surrounding area. They were determined to enjoy the house, area and ireland to the full and we were very happy to help. It is good to see that they recommend the great sailing and surfing facilities that are available on the lakeshore. It is also fantastic to see that they also recommend the restaurants in the area which we highly recommend. It is very nice to receive guests who appreciate the beauty of an old and unique house and nicer still to hear that they enjoyed it so much. We look forward to welcoming them back again in the future

Perfect Cottage in a Perfect Location
Thos  Lancashire
Review Submitted: June 19, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
Wonderful cottage for a perfect Lough/countryside holiday, the Lough side position and the super facility of having it's own Harbour, makes it ideal for taking or hiring a boat.
When we arrived, we found it just as it told us in the cottage description, clean and everything there we needed for our family holiday. Bedrooms with e-suite, to a high standard, Super lounge space, the kitchen/breakfast room with it's large ajoining dining room, gave us wonderful evenings around the table.
Save for children, our toddler, just loved the space.
It's was a joy to communicate with the owner, our questions were always answered with clarity and quickly.
The area offered great sightseeing, covering a wide range of activities, the pubs and restaurants were first class.
We got a wonderful Irish welcome.
Owner's Response: It is wonderful to welcome visitors who appreicate an old country cottage and the surrounding area as much as we do. As Thos says the area is very rich in scenery and authentic pubs playing top class Irish music and it is wonderful to hear that people appreicate such facilities being so close by. It is also fantastic to hear that Thos and his family enjoyed the first class restaurants that are available in the locality. 1 or 2 are amongst the best to be found in Ireland outside of Dublin. It is great to be able to recommend these to people and even better to hear that they enjoyed them. I really look forward to welcoming more guests like Thos and his family who really enjoy and appreciate what we have to offer.
