Kinsale is an historic garrison coastal town in County Cork, Southern Ireland. A natural enclosed harbour at the mouth of the Bandon River, it is protected by two ancient fortresses - Charles Fort and James Fort, built in the 17th century. Much of the town's splendid medieval, Georgian and Victorian architecture remains along its maze of narrow streets and on the hillside looking southwards over the entire harbour. Kinsale has, for the most part a unique presence.
This picturesque town is an important tourist, yachting, culinary and golfing destination.
