Peaceful week in Ballylickey

Review Submitted: July 16, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
Just like to say thank you again for a great week in 'tranquility', we came as a full package with elderly parents with walking dificulties, a restless 10 year old and a 1 year old who was into everything.... and it was perfect... safe and secure for both boys to play together, lots of space indoors for when the rain came and peace of mind for my parents as they were comfortable and able to enjoy their grandsons antics from their own ground floor room. A great house, very clean and comfortable and a really warm welcome from Kathleen. We enjoyed all the sights which both Cork and Kerry offered and will be back again and again and again, if only for the black pudding...thanks again...

Peaceful Retreat

Jean & Family London
Review Submitted: June 6, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
The information about the cottage is accurately described and was an ideal choice for me & my family being close to friends living nearby and for easy access to neighbouring towns and activities.

A well maintained and clean cottage, cosy, full of character with all the mod cons in a beautiful location. The children enjoyed the outdoor space.

Thank you Kathleen & Jack for being helpful and making us feel very welcome. We would love to stay again when we visit West Cork next year. We have already recommended Suaimhneas to friends.

Peaceful Retreat

Sally02128 Cork City
Review Submitted: May 27, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2008
I (and varying members of my family) come to stay in Kathleen's gorgeous cottage about twice a year (when we can get it!!!) and it's always my favorite break away. It's perfect for unwinding and generally getting away from it all. It's suitable for all types of breaks from peaceful quiet getaway, to a more active type of break. It's even perfect for those looking to party a bit in Bantry and then wake up to absolute quiet - always helpful. It's beautifully situated with gorgeous walks right on your door step. With Bantry and Glengarriff only a short drive away, with all the amenities, lovely restaurants and sights they have to offer. The house itself is very comfortable and welcoming. I couldn't recommend this cottage more. It's like home away from home for me at this stage.

We found it!

Review Submitted: May 25, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009

Charming and quiet

Brooke and Hailey Boothbay Harbor, Maine USA
Review Submitted: November 5, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
What a charming and quiet cottage. Sitting tucked in behind a hedge row sits a very charming place that has the charm and coziness of countryside Ireland, yet with the amenities of current times. We arrived on a rain swept day and we found the cottage all warm and cozy, we used the fireplace each night while discussing the next days travel plans. Super location for the entire southwest region of Ireland. Each day was an easy drive to whatever peninsula we wanted to explore, then coming "home" each evening to this delightful cottage was the icing on the cake. Kathleen and Jack are friendly, warm hosts who made sure everything was o.k.. Great people. I would absolutely recommend this cottage to anyone! If we come to that part of Ireland again, this is the cottage for our family. Thank you Kathleen & Jack for sharing such a treasure, please keep it the charming place it is!
