Beautiful sea side cottage, located in a gated development built 9 years ago in Brittas Bay, County Wicklow. Brittas Bay is one of the finest beaches on the east coast, a 5km stretch of white dunes and golden sands. The cottage enjoys a quiet secluded position, with a large back garden and patio. Sun loungers and Bar-B-Que are provided for your use. The development has an on-site caretaker, 3 tennis courts and plenty of private parking. County Wicklow is well renowned for its beautiful scenery, hence this area is known as 'The Garden of Ireland'. yet it is only a 45 minute drive to the bustling city of Dublin. Brittas Bay beach has won a EU Blue Flag - the international emblem for the highest quality beach areas in Europe. No headlands interfere with the peaceful rhythm, and it is an ideal spot for bathing, sailing and walking. The dunes are home to many interesting wildlife species and plants, including a number of rare species.

Best to stay in Summer when its likely to be warm

We (6 adults) stayed in Oct and the house was cold. No central heating, just individual electric heaters (expensive). We didn't use them but spent a lot of money on logs for the stove. It rained heavily while we were there and there was nowhere to dry our wet outdoor clothing. It took 8 weeks and several emails to obtain return of deposit minus the cost of electric. The house was immaculate and well appointed in a lovely location and would be excellent in warmer weather but I would hesitate to stay there again in winter.

It would have been useful to have had an outdoor washing line. Twin room down stairs was very cold - but so was the weather outside.
