Location
This brand new 3-bedroom house is located less than 3 miles from Dublin's City Centre. It is the ideal location from which to explore Dublin. The house is very quiet, located on a short non-through-road parallel and just behind the Clontarf Road. It is on a direct bus route into the city centre. You can walk to the famous Dollymount Strand and its fabulous long sandy beach in 5 minutes. There are two Championship links golf courses and a pitch-and-putt are only a couple minutes away. It is very near St Annes Park and it world-famous Rose Garden, and children's playground. DART station about 15 minutes walk. Lots of on street parking in addition to garage and space directly in front of house.
Bull Island (5 minutes' walk)
Bull Island is an island that is barely 200 years old, being formed by the gathering of sand from when the Great South Wall was built in the 1700s. The process of sand accumulation gathered momentum with the construction of the North Bull Wall between 1825 and 1830. Eventually isolated sandbanks became interconnected and with their dunes held together by long-rooted marram grass and other sea-hardy plants the whole conglomeration gelled into a single island that is still growing. A swimming beach, nearly the full 3 mile (5 km) length of the island provides a great leisure facility for Dubliners and visitors alike. There is a fantastic variety of bird life on the island especially during the winter when migratory birds flock here from colder climes. In 1986 Dublin City Council opened Bull Island Interpretative Centre to assist in the understanding of the unique flora and fauna and specialised habitats of the surrounding sand dunes and salt marshes.
St Anne's Park & Rose Garden (5 minutes' walk)
St. Anne's Estate was the former Dublin home of the Guinness Family. It was acquired in 1939 by Dublin Corporation and St.Annes is now the largest enclosed Dublin City park, covering some 112 hectare(270 acres). In addition to extensive woodlands, water features and recreational facilities, its rose gardens are of international importance and are at their peak in June, July, August and September. There is a wonderful market here on Saturdays and the Red Stables Cafe is delightful for lunch.
Other Activities Pub-crawling
Golf Information:
In the 1880's the Royal Dublin Golf Club developed a golf links and in 1927 St. Anne's Golf Course was developed. In 1955, Dublin Corporation acquired the entire island from the Royal Dublin Golf Club apart from the club itself. Following the construction of the Causeway Road in 1962/1964 to increase access to the Island, the Corporation granted St. Anne's Golf Club a lease sufficient to increase this course from 9 to 18 holes.
