The most relaxing two weeks

Review Submitted: August 30, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
The setting of this house is hard to beat. The views of the sea are breathtaking and constantly change with the light and weather.
Each day began with a long walk on the beach with our two dogs; afternoons lazing around the house or visiting local attractions. Valentia Island, reached by bridge or ferry, is quite close and hosts wonderful scenery and eateries. Our favourite is the Lighthouse Cafe with fresh organic food and amazing views.
Other trips included Glencar and the Dingle peninsula drive which should not be missed.
The house was spotless, comfortable and well equipped. We cooked at home a lot, enjoying the produce of the local butchers in Glenbeigh and Killorglin.
The views shown on the website are not exaggerated so staying in was a pleasure.
We will definitely return to the house in Rossbeigh and have recommended it to our friends.

Fantastic Beach Location...a perfect holiday

MSD Grand Junction, CO
Review Submitted: July 13, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
We have just returned from a wonderful trip to Ireland. We have been to Kerry several times and usually stay in Killarney. We had visited the beach at Rossbeigh before and thought it would be a wonderful place to spend a week or two. We feel very lucky to have found such a great place to stay. This beautiful holiday home is located on a hillside with stunning views of the beach at Rossbeigh and also across the bay to the Dingle Peninsula. It is such a beautiful spot and one could be content to sit on the deck and just enjoy the views but there are so many things to see and do in this area. There is the beach of course and horsebacking riding just a short walk up the road. Glenbeigh is a lovely small village located on the main Ring of Kerry road. Killarney is about a 45 minute drive if you want to visit the Killarney National Park, Muckross House or Ross Castle. We were able to take a boat trip from Portmagee out to Skellig Michael and I must say it was the highlight of our entire trip. There is lovely small beach at Ballinskelligs just a few miles off the Ring of Kerry road just past Cahirciveen. Be sure to take a day to see the Dingle Peninsula. We would highly recommend this lovely holiday home to anyone thinking of vacationing in County Kerry. John was a great host and gave us some good suggestions for things to see and do. Rossbeigh is a short walk down the hill and lovely for long walks and good for swimmingtoo if you can brave the cool water. I can't think of a more peaceful or beautiful place to spend a holiday and we will be back.

Ireland by the Sea

Gwynn Ellicott City, MD
Review Submitted: June 23, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
My husband and I brought our two children and three of our older daughters high school graduate friends to Ireland. Our stay in the house was flawless. It was clean comfortable and laid out so that no one felt impinged upon for private space. The beach was a short walk away and was great for both walks and a swim. John told us of a number of places to eat and see and we enjoyed them all. The girls especially enjoyed the horseback riding available a short distance from the house. We have recommended this house to others.

Wonderful time!!

A Caring RN West Islip, NY USA
Review Submitted: June 1, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
My son, grandson and I spent a glorious week staying at your beautiful house! The pictures on the web did not do it justice. The moment we got there, the gorgeous views from all of the windows took our breath away. My son was thrilled because each day he took his surfboard and walked down to the beach and had some great rides! I was able to film him from the deck! And the sunsets from the deck were beautiful. The location was perfect- we drove around the Ring of Kerry (starting point mere minutes away) then to Dingle (a lovely fishing village) and to Blarney Castle near Cork. (You do need a car to get around!) The house was spotless, the rooms spacious, the kitchen had all the amenities- and the visit from John made it very personal. Yes I would recommend this to all! A fantastic retreat 'away-from-it-all'

Wez Northants, England
Review Submitted: May 12, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2008
This beautifully furnished yet very homely holiday home was a welcome retreat from the hub-bub of daily life for my family last year. We found the many facilities in the well-maintained and spacious property perfectly suited for our needs, whether we wanted to spend a lazy day,at the property, walking down to the excellent Rossbeigh Strand that stretches just beyond or using the home as a base to explore all that Co Kerry has to offer. This fabulous place offers something for everyone; I know my kids were spoilt for choice. We even travelled up to Co Clare and ferried over to the Aran Islands as the home is central to many attractions, including the Ring of Kerry - not to be missed.
We found that the description of the property was extremely accurate with the owner always available at the other end of a phone if needs be. With regards the village of Glenbeigh, just a quick walk from the property, there were all necessary shopping facilities, a Post Office and three restaurants, serving very good dishes all through the day and evening.
Just a few miles up the road, there is Killorglan - a busy little town - where we visited the Puck Fair (an August tradition) with its many events and market stalls. My personal favourite place, apart from Rossbeigh, is Killarney - a large 'town' with any attraction you would want to visit and all shopping facilities you need. We even went to see Riverdance at the Killarney Theatre - absolutely fantastic.
I'd recommend this holiday home to anyone and everyone as it offers so much. The only downside of a holiday here is that two weeks passes just too quickly.
Yet we are revisiting the holiday home this year - my son is keen to go horse-riding this time as there are stables just a ten minute walk down the road. I'll probably put my feet up, with a good book, overlooking the fantastic Rossbeigh Strand with a glass of vino! Perfect. Can't wait!
