Dunmore East is a pretty fishing village situated on the south western coast of Waterford Harbour on the opposite side to the Hook Peninsula with its historic lighthouse. The estuary has always been one of the busiest in Ireland serving the ports of Waterford and New Ross. The village is 15k south-east of Waterford City with a well signposted main road leading directly from the Quays. Coming from the bridge, keep to the inside lane on the Quays, and you will be taken straight on to the Dunmore Road by the Tower Hotel. Once you are on the road, do not turn off it until you are in the village. Island Lane is on the left opposite the Ocean Hotel. Peir View is the second last house on the right. Alternatively cross the Passage East ferry from Wexford. Turn left out of the village and follow the signs for Dunmore. Drive past church and down to the Strand. Keep on straight up the steep hill and turn left onto the main street at the Ship Inn. - rest of directions as above.
